Have noticed over the last couple of weeks, particularly after the Kangaroos game, that we in here were overly critical of the team and how they played, yet opposition supporters who have posted in here and on the main board have said we looked awesome after playing their side.

Are we judging the team too harshly, are opposition supporters being too kind, or is it a combination of the two?

I think alot of it is because we are nearing Finals and are starting to get nervous. Whether its subsconscious or not, we are focusing on the Cats and amplifying any weakness or chink they may have, seeing it as their potential downfall. When in reality, we are still playing good football. Although we obviously weren't that good against Port.

I reckon our form has dropped off a bit over the past month. We have been good in bursts rather than giving a sustained excellent performance over 4 quarters. I am hoping this is due to our coaching/fitness staff having us primed for September. I would be perhaps a little worried if we were at the top of our game over this period.

It has been nice to see that we have still been able to win fairly comprehensively when we haven't been playing at 100%. You would think that the Port Adelaide loss may be just the reality check that would be needed to prevent any of the players getting ahead of themselves.

Well, last year the Eagles did the same; the month before the Finals they didn't really play all that good, especially that huge loss to mthe Dockers in round 21. yet once the Finals hit they went up a notch. Its what all good teams do if they are pretty much guaranteed a top 2 spot; no point grinding the engine away.
