I have a set of personalized rego plates (Collingwood) from WA.

Im moving to Victoria in January, From memory Im supposed to change my rego within 3 months. Id rather not but If I have to get Victorian plates ,what will happen to my WA Collingwood plates?

You will have to get Victorian plates, and I would imagine that after a few months you would receive a notice from WA reg asking for you to return the number plates. That is if it's the same as SA, every states different

From http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/21401.asp#23966

Plates not attached to a Western Australian licensed vehicle will be stored by us and a storage fee for each year or part thereof charged to the person entitled to the Certificate of Right to Display and Trade the plates.

So you can surrender your plates, sell them off or pay about $20/yr for the govt to hang onto them until you go back to WA.
