Seeing Peter Street is looking a certaintity to end up at Doggieland... what do u Geelong supporters think of him? is he any good? r u glad to get rid of him?

Mixed feelings from me on this.

On one hand, glad to see that he was able to play relatively well when he was given his chance last season, after several years of struggling for a game.

Yet, when we have everyone healthy, he's going to get lost in the pecking order of our ruckmen again, behind King, Chambers, and others, so perhaps it's best that he gets a chance somewhere else.

Perhaps, too, that the imminent addition of Mark Blake may have made Street expendable as well?

Peter Street was always going to struggle at Geelong. Being only slightly younger than King, meant that he was always going to be in the shadows and not given much opportunity to advance with game time in the firsts.

He is one of my favourite Geelong footballers, admittingly not for skills though. At the Western Bulldogs, I reckon he will get the game time that will let him develop into top level ruckman. The move will be good for Street and it will be good for the Western Bulldogs and I personally wish him all the best.

He only got a go at Geelong late this season and I think the match committee had well and truely made up their mind about him at that point. He could have had 147 hit outs in the last game and he was gone.

Unfortunately, aside from his tap work, his reading of the game is poor and eventhough he's a reasonably capable overhead mark he rarely seems to be in the right position. It might come with playing time though and he's a worthwhile pick up for the Dogs because I'm sure he'll come cheap and they won't have to give up too much for him.

Don't really see that playing second fiddle to Darcy at the Bulldogs will be much different for him than playing second fiddle to King though! Are they going to ruck him and move Darcy up forward or is he just being recruited as a (cheap) back up?

Street's time was up years ago. The only thing keeping him on the list was his back-up abilities to King, but now that Chambers has began to ripen and Smith coming through the VFL, we're packed with ruckman. Not forgetting to add in Mark Blake under the father-son rule.

Street was a beanpole, didn't offer anything really. All the best to him at the Dogs, and at least we will get something in return for him.

Smith really isn't a ruckman, and barely got a kick this year.

I don't doubt the guy has talent, but the hype is unbelievable given he struggled in the VFL.

If Smith makes it, it will be as a tall flanker.

Peter Street was never going to get much chance at Geelong, and will be a handy pick up for whichever club gets him.

Well, Street was traded to the Bulldogs for pick #20, which was then used to secure David Haynes and pick #42 from West Coast.

I guess you could say that Street had come to the end of the road at Geelong. :p

Yeah you're right, almost as bad as your spelling of the words clearly and recent. ;)

Which team do you go for bLuEMoOsE... or should we call you Derryn Hinch??

A good tap ruckman is exactly what we needed, since we didnt have one at all. Darce has been crucified by the new ruck contests, (short for a ruck and cant jump).

Scott Wynd is our ruck coach, and he was the expert at contesting ruck contests then droppping back into the hole, which is my bet of Streets job for us -- I hope he can teach the guy a thing or two.

Nathan Eagleton has more courage than Street, so i don't know how he'll adapt to filling the hole.

You'll be lucky if he moves from the centre bounce area, quite frankly.
