Something needs to be done about it.

On friday night he had 30 disposals with a 60% eff rate, not good enough.

Peverills' delivery into the forward 50 is at times embarassing for a league footballer to say the least. At the moment we lack a silky smooth midfielder who can deliver with accuracy to the forwards.

Poor ole Lloydy and Lucas must lick their lips when they see Peverill, J.Johnson, Watson and Stanton streaming forward.

There is a real need for a classy midfielder in our team.

Stanton has been on the imrpove with his kicking and Watson seems to be working hard on his.

Pev has shown he has the ability to get the ball alot, if he could just use it nicely then it would help him out alot.

I did not start this thread to discuss how good of a tagger he is, im just worried about his disposal.
That's only just occurred to you?
Most teams can carry one or two guys with poor disposal, as long as there's a good match up, I'm happy for Pev to play - as long as we don't have both of Heff and Bolton in as well.

Peveril is getting himself in positions he shouldn't be getting in. He is NOT a link man ... his disposal is just not good enough. His role in the team is to stop his direct opponent from getting the ball and be aggressive at the man with the ball.

Pev was fantastic the other night. Good user or not, he had 26 uncontested possessions which tells me 2 things….

1. Pev works extremely hard. Besides shadowing Judd, ensuring many of his disposals were under pressure (and not too damaging), Pev continually worked into space to provide an offensive option from our defensive rebounds. In the first quarter, he was pretty much the only Essendon player doing it. You can’t really criticise him for working hard, can you?

2. Judd was unaccountable and paid Pev little respect. One could even accuse Juddy of downhill skiing. More than half of Judd’s possessions were contested, but 85% of his direct opponent’s possessions were uncontested. You have to work hard both ways…Pev did, Judd didn’t.

He’ll never be silky skilled, evasive, speedy or a brilliant kick…but he plays with amazing courage, covers heaps of ground, finds the footy and gets the maximum out of himself. I’ll be the first to have a crack at him if he’s plays unaccountable football, but he did the business against Judd and deserves praise not criticism.

Never said he wasn't a hard worker but if he wants to be someone who consistenly gets the ball he is going to have to learn how to use it properly.

I actually think he has got better with his disposal oerall this season. His upside far outways any disposal issues.

Not one of his better nights for disposal this week. He has been better in the past but you are right, despite him doing well on Judd his disposal let him down.
