Phantom race call

My cricket club wants to do a phantom race call at the trophy night for a bit of a laugh and to raise some money

We have a guy who does a good race call and we have finalised the field to 12 of the best nicknames at the club. We are planning to pick the top 3 out of a hat and obviously pre record the race.

The problem we're having is finding the best way of selling the horses and how to organise odds etc..... We want to do some sort of a form guide so maybe the favourites have more numbers in the hat or something like that?

Auctions have been mentioned but I'm at a loss on how to organise it.

I have searched on the net without success for something similar so if anyone has some ideas it would be much appreciated

The best way to do the odds. Would be to rate their chances out of 100.

So give the favourite maybe 60/100.

That would mean 100/60 =1.66..... So give the favourite odds of $1.70.

A rougy chance would have 2/100....

100/2 = $50.


That is the easy way of attaining odds. And you would have a fair idea of who is going to be the favourite etc.

my cricket club does the same thing
like 40 or 50 nicknames are picked and a form guide was produced and sold for a dollar each. its easy because its all scripted and pre recorded basically they all started in a random order from the top 4 or 5 names so the winner could have been 5th faovourite. then the top 3 from each race ran in the final. the odds changed based onhoe much money was going in for the certain horse.
