I wonder if Benny was at home watching.

It was a fascinating interview - being addicted to Ice must be an awful experience for the person as well as the family and friends.

Phil's wife is one amazing woman to stick by her man in those circumstances.

I thought it was a great interview you could see the pain on his face when he was answering a few of the questions, was not your run of the mill celebrity done bad interview.

His wife must be a very strong and forgiving woman to give him a 2nd chance after what he did to her. Hope he pulls through and channels his emotions into writing great music and raising his family:thumbsu:

On a side note why does Andrew Denton not get the kudous that a much much much less talented Rove gets from the media????
Andrew is one of if not the best interviewer in the bussiness and his wide range of guests makes his show so much more interesting to watch.:thumbsu:

Agree. Denton is an awesome interviewer and shits all over Rove. Enough rope is one of the best shows on the box.

Thought last nights interview was fantastic and it is good to see a fairly high profile musician come out and admit that he has/ had a serious problem. Hopefully it may inspire other people to seek help if they are addicted to these types of drugs.

The difference is that Phil has nothing to lose and its generally accepted in the industry. In footy it isnt accepted and Ben still has a career to look after, Ben has/had plenty to lose
Nothing to lose I beg to differ. I felt his words were really sincere compared to when Cousins spoke out. Being sincere has nothing to do with if your a rock star sportsperson or pool cleaner. Phil was deeply ashamed and remorseful.

There is a clear difference between an in-depth interview and a public statement particularly when the one is representing a band whilst the other a multi-million dollar club

There is also a clear difference between a sportsman taking drugs which is shunned and a musician taking drugs which is seen as quite normal

I think it's largely to do with the fact Denton is on the ABC. The majority of his interviews are great because they bring out a different side to the person and he doesn't just have people on when they are out to promote something.

Again you're missing the point. I'm not arguing the fact that a person taking ice would be more prominent in the music world. Read my original point. His body language and tone of voice reeked of remorse. Benny boy didn't - he seemed to smirk his way through it

He is the best I have seen. I really loved the Richard E Grant one he did

frankly, she came across as a groupie

did anybody else noticed the way she kept saying she "loved" him? not how much she "loves" him, how much she "loved" him.

good interview though

Interesting you say that. Was talking to a couple of friends today and they both said that she came across in a very poor light too. One even used the word groupie, apparently she has stuck around despite an affair never mind the ice addiction. I didn't see the interview myself, wish i did, it sounds like it was worth watching.

I don't know enough about Jamieson but obviously it is good PR to be remorseful when you have a new album coming out, I hated how a couple of weeks ago he said that he felt like he had been r*ped when news of his ice addiction was leaked. You'd think he'd come up with another expression.
