In todays Geelong Advertiser Brian Cook says that Geelong have made offers to 3 uncontracted players .One is obviously Soloman. Hopefully another one is Phill Matera.I think that Phillip Matera would be a better option than Solloman. We need goal kickers regardless of thier hight and Matera certainly does that.He is a bit older but is fit and hasn't had any major injuries.He would be more deserving of big money than Solloman but probobly wouldn't be asking as much. Givin his age his trade value would probobly be less than that of Solloman.The conditions of Skilled Stadium would also suit his game. Thoughts

Wouldnt mind having a footballer like Phil Matera at Geelong, but I can't see him leaving West Coast at all, or West Coast parting with him. He's like a part of the furniture there.

If it comes down between him and Solomon, it's got to be Solomon.

Phil Matera is a quality finisher, but I doubt he'd leave West Coast.

I don't want him at Geelong. There are many players who would be much better at Geelong than that guy. I have never really been a fan of him, and I don't think I ever will be.

Having read this thread, something needs to be said. You must never ever EVER let Phil Matera go to geelong, nor must you ever consider trading Cameron Ling to us.
Why? Well, because if they were at the same club, there is a chance that they might breed, either by natural (urgh) means, or by some bizarre sort of cloning experiment.

And if they bred, their offspring might look like..this. Avert your eyes, little ones.

To be honest though, there is a pretty (bad choice of word) good tradition of ugliness at Geelong. Buddha's face was enough to scare his own mother. Ablett's comb-over and toothless grin would scare children and before them you have to wonder at what age did Mick Turner run head first into that brick wall and the ubermeister of ugliness "Scratcher" Neal, and you know what, they were all great players (except maybe Turner).
