Hi,

I'm currently on a Vodafone Infinite Plan. They've just released a deal with the Galaxy S II, which is the same price as the plan I'm on.

I'm frustrated with my current handset (Nokia N8) and would like to switch phones. I'm getting the impression that in order to do this, I'd have to pay out the remaining month's phone costs (i.e. $5 per month x how many months left in the contract).

Can anyone help me out with this, and how to go about doing it?

How long left on your contract? Could you give the phone back and forfeit what you've already paid?

N8 seems like a multimedia phone, main commercial doesn't even bother talking about internet capability. I'm sure the GS2 will be a better phone.

About 13-14 months to go, so I'm guessing that I'd have to pay the price of renting the phone (i.e. $5 per month) for the remaining months. So either $65 or $70.

The N8 is definitely a multimedia phone - how many others have a HDMI output?

I'd like a phone with excellent texting capacity/interface, and good connectivity to social networking/internet. The GS2 seems to fit that description..

you have to pay the contract out, not just the handset repayments if you want out of the contract
otherwise you could ring them up and ask for a second handset to be placed on your contract.so you'll pay your current phone off for the next 12 months and then the SGSII for the next 24 months

Prankmonkey is right, I wanted to 'upgrade' my handset with 3 and they told me I had to pay a cancellation fee and the rest of the cost of the phone (even though I was paying $0 per month for my handset at that point). Ended up having to pay over $400 to end the contract.
