Does anyone in these stores have any product knowledge or customer services skills? Deadset flogs some of them.
Optus / Vodaphone. Trying to help my GF sign up to a cheaper phone plan - the moo in Optus saying, oh its worth paying the $13 a month in handset payments because its just worth it - plain unhelpful.Which telco you referring to?

No worse and I'd like to think better simply because the minute I'm not happy with TPG I'll take my business to Kogan or Amaysim or Vaya or Red Bull or Liveconnected or any one of the other hundred similar options.Their sim only deals look far far cheaper than any of the main carriers (Teltra, optus, voda etc). Whats their service like?

Part of Telstra is likely still better than all of Vodafone though...I think kogan only uses part of the Telstra network meaning reception isn't as good and speeds aren't as high. Amaysim as far as I know uses the full Optus network. Happy to be corrected though
Probably one for the 'things you don't understand' thread, but why are there so many phone stores?
My local centre has 9 of them, plus a JB Hifi, an Apple Store and a Dick Smith (as well as K-Mart, Myer, David Jones, Coles, Woolworths which all have/had something the way of phones).
How do so many of these shops stay in business when there is minimal differentiation between them and retail space is so expensive?
