Unless Harves suspects his players are involved in some betting scandal and are likely to use their phones to give out key information on players and positioning close to game time there is no need for him to follow Clarkson's example.

Good idea but could backfire if i was a player i would lose respect for Harvey for copying such a stunt.
Sure it worked once for the hawks but with the form there showing whos to say they wouldnt of won without the stunt.
For another coach to then try an copy the same little trick it just shows desperation an cant come up with own ideas.
All that needs to be done is sit them down an say something like did u guys enjoy playing finals, Do u want to be there again??
Unless we start busting our asses an giving it everything we got for 4quarters we wont be playing finals.
The time to stand up is NOW.
When they put in an effort we are a good enough team to make the 8 with the injury problems.
When we just show up with little intensity we are a bottom 4 side.
Put in the required effort an good things will come, injuries or no injuries its all about there intensity and hunger for success.

Having spoken to a Freo player about their match preparation, I'd say the Hawks removing the phones was to target certain members of their squad without targeting specific people, if that makes sense.
