You could do it in a day trip, but I wouldn't recommend it. Allowing for the travel to and from the island, it cuts a huge chunk out of your day. If you just want to go for a bit of a swim or a snorkel for a couple of hours, then a day trip would be fine. There is an awesome resort on the island as well, so staying there for a coupld of days to relax/unwidn would be the best option.

yep, alot of filthy euro/aussies with equally filthy hookers..

dont do shopping there, its a ripoff... (do all your shopping in bangkok if u are going there too)...

be sure to do some day(s) trips to the outlying islands..

kayaking is a must do.... explore those caves/hollowed out rocks/beaches etc..

fanta-sea is very good.. its a theme park, but the main show is a 'cirque-du soleil' type production... with animals, acrobats etc...

also alot of nice topless swedes and italians.

its a nice place but try and stay away from patong. You can get accomodation in the nothern parts like bang tao bay - thoroughly recomend this place.
