Looking good!

Please Terry, do not make any firm commitments to Patrick Bowden! Pick one in the preseason draft should be made on the best available talent. No brotherly love...

To think that we picked up Mark Coughlan a few years back at pick number 21 or so, we have the opportunity now to strangle the best young kids.

I actually wouldnt mind finishing last again (with a priority pick) next year, if l new we could benefit this much.

Gain - Picks 12, 16 and Troy Simmonds
Lose - Brad Ottens & Aaron Fiona, sorry Fiora.

At present, Simmonds has more to hang his hat on than Ottens... and doesnt seem to have any injury concerns. Come on Staff... start the fire breathing for round 1 next year... Ottens you're a dead f****cker.

Looking forward to an update to footydraft.com later today to see who they think suits us now given what picks we have. Unfortunately we may miss out on one of the top ruck men which is a shame, we definitely need to draft one.

Yeah, but ruckmen take a bit longer to come good so we really need to get one happening asap. It's one of the areas the club has failed in the last few years, no young ruckman comnig through.

WE got Coughlan in the end of season draft.

Pre season draft is recyclables. Dont get them mixed up.

Bowden would be a good pickup seeing the refuse they usually ends up there.

The ways its going. I can see Richmond making a run for the finals in 2006 and then the great rivalry of St Kilda vs Richmond wil begn for years, just like port and brissie as who si the better inter state side, now id the chance for Richmond to start up what we did back in the day before I was born. I would love so much to see my team succeed as I haven't yet.
C'arn the Tiges!!!!!!!

woohooo!!!

there are plenty of ruckmen in the draft and they'll be right through it.

some kid called moran broke the all time AFL 20 m sprint record at a screening the other day...until then unknown
There's an Earl shaw,,and a Lynch....some others....I'll put a list up...but (yawn) not tonight

there's more than just Wood, Deluca meeson in there

and remeber how well praised Paddy steinfort was...had all the credentials...all aus/larke medal ...world at his feet...never played a game

I was always looking forward to Paddy playing but never happened. Can anyone tell me why?? Was it injuries?

Pat Steinfort was too short to ruck (and had no leap) and too immobile to play in key positions. We recruited him knowing he couldn't ruck in the AFL but at junior footy he did really well playing a kick behind play so we thought he might make it as a CHB.

Injuries on top of that didn't help of course.

The pick looks worse than it actually was. The elligable draft age had been increased meaning that clubs had to go through the same pool of players a 2nd time (with the exception of one 17 year old each - Steinfort for us). It was also the year Port came in.

i don't think there is any chance of the tiges finishing last next year, let alone qualifying for a priority pick and shame on you Wally for actually wanting it

Had there been any one of the other 15 coaches (well maybe not Schwab) in charge of Richmond in 2004 they would have finished above at least 4 other teams. I'd be very suprised if Wallace doesn't have a significant impact on yuor 2005 season and i'm guessing that there would be alot of disappointed tiger supporters

Notting or Salopek would be better to boost the midfield stocks and speed. We will pick up 3-4 talls in the National Draft and Wallace will play them straight away
