I see the idea of charging customers for plastic bags has been shelved for a while...my questions are -

would you pay for plastic bags?

do you sometimes say you don't want a plastic bag just to be environmentally friendly?

Also, I noticed that shopkeepers who are greenies now say "you don't need a plastic bag do you?" rather than "would you like a plastic bag".

Yes, slug 'em hard. Spend some time in Asia to see the problems of plastic bags, stryo cups etc. Hit 'em hard. I used to bring a calico, but I shop groceries over the web....and they all come in plastic bags!!!.....aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!

i wouldn't mind a fee for plastic bags, but why don't shops simply stop providing them? why not a national advertising campaign for people to buy their own durable shopping bags because the shops won't have bags anymore?
