BIG seasons looming for these players.I'll be happy if Raines doesn't go backwards, asking more then he produced this season is a bit much.
1.Gaspar back to his best would be huge for our defence, allowing Polak ( not expecting much from Polak in his first season) to ease his way into the side. With the Bowden's helping down back and the run from Raines and possibly Newman who will probably have a year in defence to recover frm his broken leg our defence suddenly turns from a weekness to a strength. 2.Hall to help out in probably his last season of football unless he puts in a blinder. There is starting to be some competition for our Key defensive positions which has to be great for the sides improvement.
3. Jay Shulz needs to step up into the consistency stakes. I'm still lost to where he is suited. Not expecting to much from him either but more involvment would be a start.
4. Krakker simply needs to kick those 2-3 goals a game. Pretty much is doing everthing else right. Holds the ball in the forwardline, tackles one percenters ect are all fine. Kick some goals!!!
5. Brett Deliedio. This nineteen yr old can be anything. An extra couple of kilo's on his already strong body will give him more confidence to take them on Juddlike. Last year he improved a little on his first season, this year with Newman and Cog's coming back from Injury more time in the Guts with added responsibility might just see he develope quickly into the superstar that we know we have. But don't forget he is still just 19.
6. Pattison is taking small steps forward and looks like he will make a decent player. In the ruck? down back? up forward? does anyone know where he'll play. I think he'll be that mobile Ruckman in the Darcy mold.
7. Hughes 22 games this season would be great for him and the club.
8 Tambling. This kid will step up.
If Players like the Bowdens, Hyde, Polo, Foley, etc... need to hold the ground that they have taken. Any improvement from them well see us seriously becoming top eight contenders.
Why do you say stuff like that, it's just dumb and its asking for trouble, he's not JUdd-like, no one is, ad how can you say he's a Superstar?
You know this? How, he cant break a tag. Take a breath and see what happens this year.

Richmond has the potential to be a great side but who do they need to step up?

As somoene has already rightly said, our whole list has to make improvements. But, each have different reasons for the need to improve.
The ones that are in danger of not being at Richmond in 2008 are:
- Ray Hall (he would have to pull out something remarkable or our backline becomes more disastorous than ever for him not be under pressure)
- Brent Hartigan (Chaffey's departure opens a perfect opportunity for him, other younger kids have passed him and he either steps up into this type of role or he is vulnerable.)
- Andrew Krakouer (l like him - others here dont - but l do recognise its a massive year for him)
- Daniel Jackson (simple, no seniors and no Jacko in 2008 - injuries or no injuries)
- Trent Knobel (Need the big fella to step up so that Simmo has a hand, cant see him losing his spot largely due to poor depth in our rucking department)
- Kelvin Moore (he has to improve, but l dont really know what in because we very rarely see him)
- Greg Tivendale (not going to comment on this - l do every year and it hasnt achieved anything - trying reverse psychology)
- Jay Schulz (agree, no more excuses)
The rest are all as safe as houses, barring a major hiccup. But to make finals, the improvement in the players above will not determine whether we make it or not... it'll be the usual suspects and our younger brigade becoming semi-elite players.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Luke McGuane. He's been around a couple of years now and surely if he doesn't show something next year he wont survive the 2007 cull.
