Haven't seen much of the cats this year [thanks to channel essenwood], but am interested to know how Playfair is travelling.

Last year he seemed to work hard when given limited opportunities [I recall McCarthy was the preferred option for much of the season], but he never really made a mark on the team.

Consistent scores of 100+ points over the recent weeks seem to suggest that the forward line is finally starting to do its job. Has Henry been a part of that, or has he been playing a ruck/bench role while King works his way back to full fitness? I notice this week that he's been named as our CHF. Is this where he's been playing? Does he have a future there?

Your thoughts please.

H has played defence, ruck and forward this year.I think he's bet suited to defence.

He's always named at CHF,but doesn't really play there. When forward he probably plays forward pocket or half forward flank.

I've seen "H" play a few games this year and think for him to become a good CHB needs to improve his disposal and decision making when bringing the ball out of the back half. Cant question his marking ability though, hes good in the air

Its not just the back half. He doesnt seem confident in his disposal at times. At times this year he is trying to bring back 'the geelong handball'. 'The geelong handball' is our lets handball to a guy running past without looking only to realise too late that opponent has him covered and drives him into the ground (sometimes even before they collect the ball) For further watching on 'the geelong handball' see season 2003. He simply needs to follow the team plan and kick the ball quickly & long in to the forward line because he has shown he has a reasonable kick at times.
Lets hope we see some more games like his 2nd quarter against Sydney this year....mouthwatering

Mark Thompson has expressed a desire to leave Playfair at CHF, but I think that sometimes it isn't possible due to matchups down back and our ruck struggling. I think Thompson wants Playfair to develop into the CHF we need. He's a tall lad, very mobile and a reasonable mark from the sounds of it. I once read that he hasn't played Aussie Rules for that long, only a couple of years before he was drafted. I'd suggest he still has a long way to go in his learning of the game.

Henry doesn't look like much of a player 2 me. He's supposed to be a forward so play him in the forward line! We have enough defenders. We need forwards not backmen.
