I know we have had this discussion before but this bloke is just not going to take us anywhere fast and thats just a fact, stupid dropped chest marks, worst decision making in the history of the game, can't kick, ruck work is average and we all stick up for him.

He is no better then mensch was and he along with 3-4 others was the reason we lost that game, i would offload him along with Bartel if he wants to go and chase another key forward loke a Fev, Tarrant or even Polak.

That play on was a joke and how he can't kick a football still has got me stuffed, had enough of him and enough of everyone saying give him time, there is no sucj thing, the time was friday nite to stand up when king went down and he couldn't

I'm keeping the faith with 'H'. I thought he did well enough in quite a few games this year to warrant us keeping and developing him more. I think breaking his jaw really disrupted his momentum this season.

He is a worthwhile 'project' player and he is getting better every year.
 
he would want to get better cant get worse, just dont see the promise in him, what does he have to offer that is going to take us to a flag
 
I disagree. My thoughts have been made well known on H in other threads. In short, he's played one injury interrupted season in the hardest position on the field and he's shown promise. He's not the most polished prospect I've ever seen, but he's still learning and improving and I'm willing to persist with him at least for the first part of 2006 to see if he keeps improving.
 
Last time i noticed broken jaws had nothing to do with poor decsion making or pathetic kicking of the football
 
I am willing to give him another chance! He showed a fair bit in the middle of the season..I know he cant kick and has shocking decision making abilities, but he can take a good grab when he is playing well, or at least contest the ball.

If there is a forward that should be gone, its Charlie Gardiner.. as soon as he gets one of his 3 possessions per game, he either turns it over, or kicks it on the full from 20m out straight in front..even Kent can score from there! and thats saying something!

We have got enough forwards that cant kick straight...we need someone who can...i reckon lets have a crack at Fev! If we dont get him then good and well..if we do, it just means we have an extra option up forward, and one that can kick straight. He will kick more than 1 bag of 5 goals in a season which we cant even do now anyway.

Ever played in a do-or-die semi-final in front of a parochial crowd interstate?

Ever done it with minimal finals experience and as a young, developing forward trying to learn the hardest position on the ground?

Cut the bloke some slack, he's developing and his 2005 season is far beyond 2004. He will be no instant fix to Ben Graham!
 
Graham would of been good as he always took the best defender which freed up others around him, i just felt that he was overpaid abit in his time and if it was only a money thing he could of left 8 yrs ago when they came knocking, but yes he stayed thru alot of bad years and just when we improve and look like going somewhere he leaves, just stimks i reckon.

Big H just doesnt do enough and i cant state that enough, what does he actually contribute to us, i mean he just takes the wrong option too oftenm, cant kick etc, i would look at maybe Polak also from Frematle to fill that gap, i mean how much longer do we hae to see our defenders bust there balls with the midfield as well only to see the forwards continue to kick big enough scores, just so frustrating to throw another opportunity at a flag down the drain, the players and supporters need to really get stuck into the group as they did on talkback yday and maybe they will lrelise how much we r hurting also

Don't forget that Henry is still, this year, giving away strength to his opponents such as Barry in that particular game. All credit to Bomber for giving him CHF this year even though Mooney may well have done better - he has shown massive improvement and will return far the better for it next year.
Don't forget some of the good performances he's pulled out earlier this year - the one against Adelaide stands out for mine.
Well done H - definetely a tough and interrupted year, not all smooth sailing by any means, but definetely a good springboard for next year.
 
Ease up on the Graham bashing, della.

Graham made a decision, you may not approve of his decision to depart the Geelong Footy Club for the NFL, but nobody wishes such ill thoughts on another player.

I hate to play the censorship role, just thought it was out of line.
 
Watched the footy with 8 blokes on Friday who barrack for various teams. They all say we would be a champion team if we had a decent forward. They all think Playfair is a dud and can't believe he gets a game. Why is it that most of you guys can't see it. Della is the only one that must watch him play. I am sick of walking out of games saying "How good would we be if we had a forward who could mark and kick goals".
 
I have sat back as everyone (except Jack) has been defending H, but can no longer be silent. Unfortunately if there is anyone left on this board who still thinks H is worth persisting with you must be dreaming. H is not and will not be the forward we are looking for. You cannot have a bloke playing the most important position on the field 'just providing a contest'. Yes he needs to provide a contest but he also needs to keep his feet, hold a mark, kick a goal from outside 50m, H cannot do any of these things I could stand out there and 'provide a contest' but as a CHF you need to grab the game by the throat and strangle the life out of it. H will never do that. Sorry guys I am like everyone else and have been hoping he will step up but after this final series I now know it won't happen. EVER. Harsh? maybe but sometimes the truth hurts, footy is about finals, finals is about grand finals, lets look to someone who may be able to help us develop a more consistent/potent forward line. eg Fev/Tarrant/Polak

I honestly can't remember to many 4 quarter games from Playfiar this year. Hopefully he can develop into something better then what he is or we move him away from the most important position on the ground!

I just feel sorry for those fans who feel Henry is going to develop into some big time player for us, it just isnt going to happen, if we had a few decent targets up there we would be winnijg flags at the moment, remember it 42yrs now and thats a disgrace, yeah we can go with the same team and finish thereabouts but something in that forward structure has to chage, Ottens may be the key but remember he hasnt played a full season in 4 yrs and is very injury prone
