MHz Worldview is a non-profit public broadcaster that has been showcasing a weekly AFL match and highlights program for a few years now. This has given a lot of people in our country the opportunity to enjoy the sport and get into it. The publicity is obviously a positive, but now we face a problem—

Recently the network moved AFL match of the week from Monday evenings at 9pm to Saturday mornings at 3am. These matches are also now cut with no interviews, halftime show, etc. When questioned about this, their answer was that fans can watch match of the week at a better time (2pm on Mondays), but only on their Roku box. This is against all methods of public broadcasting because Roku is NOT free and does not offer anything more than what was originally available for free. We will now have to pay per match plus a fee for the Roku box. They will not openly admit that this is the reason for the change, continuing to respond that it was made to benefit west coast viewers for their re-cap (7pm to 9pm) of murder mysteries.

What I'm asking is simple—please email Nancy Sherwood of MHx Worldview and voice your opinion on this matter in a polite manner. Ask for the AFL match of the week to return to a more appropriate time on the regular network. If you don't want to write your own message, you can use the generic one below. I'm sure they'll get the message that this is a large-scale effort either way. Another way you could help is by voicing your opinion on the MHz Worldview Facebook page.

Thanks to everyone that is willing to help out.

Basic Message:

To whom it may concern,

Why are you removing AFL match of the week from Monday nights? We will never be able to watch it early Saturday mornings. We feel that as a public broadcaster and non-profit organization you are taking advantage of people by forcing us to purchase Roku in order to watch something that was originally aired for free in full for years before.

Please change the AFL match of the week back to Monday nights at an appropriate time or we will boycott the network. What you're doing is as bad as NBC when they acquired the rights to the Rugby World Cup and charged people an arm and a leg to watch matches online.

We want our footy!

Also, if someone could sticky this thread, that would be wonderful. This is really important to us as no matter where you're from I'm sure you can get the message across.
