- Getting a good start
- Midfielders kicking a fair few goals
- Not rolling over when challenged
- Skill level not diabolical

No Pav is not pleasing. That we managed to win without him certainly is but the fact he wasn't there wasn't.

Ma.Johnson showing his team mates the value of staying on your feet and keeping yourself in the contest - he was so strong. A mature body allows that I suppose, but the young guys want to look at those efforts and just burn them into their training routine in developing leg/body strength. Wish we could transpose some of that strength to say Hinckley.

And kick our highest score for the year.

I know! Its bloody freaky. I thought I'd quantum leaped into some alternative reality

... but in with all due respect. It was a half baked Port out there today. The skill errors were abundant and their mental state, particularly at the start, was the worst I've seen from just about any team this year. We still had to win the game and good on the boys for that, but if the real PA showed up we would have been found out for sure.

It really gets to me when idiots come out with those kind of statements, that Port made plenty of mistakes, if the real Port , bla bla bla. So called supporters still seem to find fault when we win, could it be that we were simply too good for them and our pressure caused their errors, I think so. Port aren't exactly on top of the ladder, we were better, live with it.

I never said we weren't better, I will happily live with us being better than the opposition. I wish it happened more often. I was just referring to our biggish score without Pav. A switched on opposition (of any description) would have held our inexperienced and relatively low skill side to a much lower score, that is all - it was very pleasing that they didn't. Fair call to some degree though, because one could argue that if the 'real Dockers' turned up all season then that game might have been for a finals spot or better, but anyway, its all speculative. The team can only play who turns up and they did it well. In the end, what was positive is that without Pav the team still looked to be very offensive minded and that = goals = win.

Another overall positive was the clearance work. Despite Ports poor season, they are still a solid clearances team and the Dockers, on the other hand, are poor in that regard. To do so well in that category was really really positive. If we can get that right going into next season then its a huge plus because our KPP players are certainly up to the task.

If you look at the statistics since 2002, Fremantle has a 100% win record when Matthew Pavlich does not play for the team.

How can we explain the fact that Freo win more games without Pav?

Yerp, reminded me of Sydney last night, Port weren't switched on at all.

That said, this is the best I have seen our team play in..... well geez I can't remember. It's not just the result but the actual BELIEF the players had, the run they had, etc. There were still some shocking turnovers and mistakes which against better sides might have cost us... but geez, we were exciting and fun to watch.

Maybe the players stepped up to the responsibility without Pav there.... just never seen that kind of team performance from Freo in a while.

- Its alot better than watching a loss

- Getting to hear Basil almost choke as he was forced to say something positive about freo, and seeing that smug smirk he gets wiped off.

-Scotty watters now has the smirk

STICK IT UP YA BASIL YA TOSSER!!!!

Pavlich had played 161 games on the trot before missing yesterday.
He had not missed a game since round 14 2001.
So your statement means that, yesterdays game is the 100% winning ratio.
