One of the best action movies I've ever seen. I've watched this again recently after about 2 years and it's as brilliant as ever.

It is an excellent movie that has aged well.

I know you said not to mention Schwarzennger but Predator is hard to beat, you can also include Lethal weapon (1 & 2), Die hard & The Last Boy Scout.

have this on dvd and i love it. it reminds me of me and my mates back in our late teens/early 20's (not robbing banks) but just surfing and doing stupid stuff and wild parties.
bells beach looks nothing like bells, still cracks me up when they're all sitting around the fire on the beach talking about the biggest waves and they're saying waimea, makaha, pipeline and bodhi goes "bells beach australia".
reckon this was keanu reeves at his peak, like the appearance of anthony kiedis as well. some good shots of inside the gangs house during the bust especially some of the chicks in the shower etc.

Yes but it seems to be on a dissapointing budget.

Diehard is also a great movie but doesn't have the excellent storyline of pb.

In the movie Torquay has a Drugstore. Aren't the cars shown near the Drugstore Yank cars and on the wrong side of the road ?

Have it in my DVD collection. Gun movie and directed by a woman, Kathryn Bigelow.

Another great movie by her: Near Dark.

Great film, i watched it many a-time during the 90's.

Not as good as a lot of Arnie movies like Predator, T2 etc... I also even prefer a few van Damme movies over Point Break like Universal Soldier, Wrong Bet (lionheart) and Kickboxer. But Point Break is great all the same.

A great film ruined by cost cutting I think. Some of the final action scenes were horribly done. Why say your going to Bells Beach and not. It was obvious. The accents were god awful. Why not go to Australia.

Could of been one of the all time greats if they didnt cut costs everywhere and take out parts of the movie because of it

technically correct however it was filmed at waimea bay, hawaii. darrick doerner was the big wave surfer paid to keep taking wipeouts to depict bodhis demise.

The beach location was in oregon, the waves were waimea.

Who just so happened to be married to James Cameron during that time. JC was also Executive Producer which probably helped make the film as entertaining as it was.

Can't stand it. Although I have my reasons, I was a Surf Life Saver around about the time it was huge and had to put up with all the little punters turning up at the beach thinking they were Johnny Utah or Bodie.

As far as greatest action film I wouldn't even say it is Reeves or Swayze's best.
