Anyone know about this area?

How far away from the city by train or car? Any railway station?

Nice area?

Terrible location for public transport. It a new housing estate between Altona Meadows and Hoppers Crossing/Weribee.

Serviced by buses only and closest train station is in Laverton. Only a guess but maybe 45-60 minutes by train to the city

On a very very very very good day its 25 Minutes from the city, on a normal day maybe 40 minutes and in peak hour, over an hour

Point cook is about 25 km out of the city on the way to Geelong. There will be a new railway station built in close proximity that is scheduled for completion end of 2012.

Closest railway stations would be Hoppers Crossing and Aircraft station depending on which part o PC you are based in. A new station is being built at Williams Landing which is on the otherside of the freeway. Traffic is terrible during peak-hour. Sneydes Rd (back of PC) is currently being up-graded. Like previously mentioned on a good day 20-25 minute drive to the city and 45-60 to Geelong. During peak hour traffic on the free-way is basically stand still from the 'Point Cook' bend (Forsyth/Palmers rd) to the West Gate.

Any other questions? I live in the area and have family that live in PC

Do u reckon that it is a good place to buy? Howmuch you reckon land should cost say around 500 sqm?

Be prepared for prices to go backwards over next 3 years. if you're going to buy in Adelaide, buy now. If you're going to buy in Melbourne, wait until the standard variable rates hit 9% (this is when the Melbourne real estate market will most likely bottom out).

Its a huge decision...as u can imagine.

At the moment im fairing towards Adelaide...big choices ahead

Unless the track is going to divert way off the original Werribee line, I find this a little difficult? There is currently Hoppers Crossing, Aircraft (which is basically at the foot of the bridge as you cross over the Freeway at Point Cook Rd) and Laverton. The proposed Williams Landing station is not a bad solution but to me it still looks very close. Having said that, the eastern suburb lines have stations very close together.

That side of Melbourne is a dive.
If thats your only choice in Melbourne you're better off in Adelaide.

Adelaide is a beautiful place and so is Melbourne, it depends what youre looking for

You know where Palmers Rd overpass ends over the Princes Freeway? - this is where the station will be located on the williams landing side of the Princes freeway, right next to the freeway. Yes the station will be very close to aircraft station - approximately 2km away.

I built a house there in the late 90s. Sold it a few years later for $420k ($150k profit) in 2001. Saw it on RealEstate.com a year ago selling for $470, so only up 12% in 8 years. Glad i got out, peak hour traffic is excrutiating.

Just settled a 2BR apartment that I paid 235k for a year ago and Agent reckons it's worth 330k which tells me it's worth 300 tops so I'm happy with that one there! :thumbsu:

Looking for houses myself atm

Williams Landing is a joke and sayers Rd is the worst Rd in the Western Suburbs

Point Cook is a very nice area and starting to get very pricey and with the new railway line going through will be a great area soon close to the madhouse they call Hoppers and Werribee but with a nice distance away so its not to close i think it is a great area to buy into

How ****ed is Sayers Road not to mention the bridge over the freeway off Boardwalk Boulevard! Spot on BEEG :thumbsu:

I thought Clyde Road, Berwick was the worse but this is just the pits. If you leave at the wrong time during the week it takes 20 minutes to get from one end of Point Cook to the other!
