Draft Guidelines
1.
The Draft will commence Sunday afternoon at 12pm AEDT (if everyone check into the thread by the that time)
2. The Draft is a snake order draft, meaning that after the completion of the first round the order will reverse, meaning the 12 seeded trainer will have the 12th and 13th pick and will proceed in that manner.
3. Pokemon Availability - all Pokemon in the OU and below tiers are available for draft. (Look at the Teambuilder tab on Pokemon Showdown http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/teambuilder) If you draft a pokemon that is in the Uber category we will have to alter the draft pick and you'll lose the opportunity to draft any pokemon taken between your incorrect pick and the time the error was noticed)
4. Mega Pokemon guidelines - there are no restrictions on how many mega pokemon can be drafted by a trainer, players will draft the basic pokemon only and can choose whether they will bring that pokemon as a mega or in it's regular form to each matchup. This means two trainers cannot have Venusaur and Mega Venusaur and it means that whoever drafts Charizard has access to Charizard, as well as its Mega forms X and Y.
5. Pokemon with different forms such as Hoopa and Hoopa Unbound or Thundurus and Thundurs-I are considered separate Pokemon for the purposes of the draft, if the Pokemon is different at team preview it can be drafted.
6. Trainers will draft 9 Pokemon
7.
Each Trainer will have 12 hours to draft a pokemon, (this 12 hour period will not include time between 12am and 6am) after this period has elapsed their turn is skipped, if a three subsequent picks have been made and the Trainer has still not been able to make their pick a pokemon will be chosen for them. (This choice will be made by Dannnnnnnnnn in consultation with myself based off the Smogon viability rankings, taking into consideration the Trainers team composition and needs).
8. Remember to tag the next trainer after executing your pick.

POOL STAGE GUIDELINES

Hello, everyone, congratulations on great drafts by all, welcome to the Pool stages. The OP contains your pool, if you haven't seen it already feel free to go any check out who you're facing off against in the Pool Stages and how the rest of the tournament will go.

Things you have to do to prepare.
1. Go to pokemon showdown ( http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/)
2. Create an account. (Click the create name in the top right hand corner) it's just a name and password, really simple.
3. Come back here and post your showdown Alias in this thread (if it's close to your bigfooty alt that would be handy)
4. Build your teams, research your opponent. Use handy tools such as the Smogon Strategy Pokedex (http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/pokemon/), the damage calculator (https://pokemonshowdown.com/damagecalc/) and team builders like Marriland and Team Magma's (http://www.teammagma.net/teambuilder/ , http://www.azurilland.com/tools/team-builder) to help build the most competitive teams.
5. Battle your opponent. You have until next Friday to complete your pool matchups. So contact your opponents, find a day that suits you and clash! You can send a battle invitation by finding your opponent online, the easiest way to do this is go to one of the lesser used chat rooms on Pokemon Showdown, such as the Italiano, or Health & Fitness threads, one you click on that chat room the users names will appear in a list on the right hand side, Crtl+F your opponent right click on their name and challenge them to an OU battle.
6. Post your replay in the thread here. After the completion of the battle it will prompt you whether you would like to share the match replay, copy that link and post it in the thread.
7. I'll do the rest, watch other match ups, see how the toruney is going, praise each other and discuss games. Should be fun.

We also welcome spectators to come in and leave their comments and reactions.

Does he have to state which charizard he is gonna use or are we gonna have to find out the hard way during the battles?
Find out the hard way. He might not even mega evolve it

Mega Pokemon are tied to their base pokemon, he can use his Charizard how he likes including as either X or Y

What that means for pokemon with multiple forms like Thundurus and Thundurus-Incarnate and Hoopa and Hoopa Unbound. By applying my logic from the mega-pokemon to multiple form mons, I would say that as mega pokemon are affected by items in battle whereas different forms are affected by things exterior to the battle and therefore come to the battle as different pokemon.

So basically if the pokemon is different at team preview, it can be drafted.

Genie forms, hoopa forms can be drafted separately, mega pokemon are not.

Hopefully every pick wont take this long
Maybe shorten the time limit, but only count the hours between say 9am and 10pm. People can still pick outside of that range but they aren't on the clock. So if one person makes a pick at 9pm, they have until 2pm the next day (9-10pm, 9am-2pm). Speeds it up without risking somebody's time elapsing at 5am.

Why don't you enter the tourneys? For memory you do have competitive pokemon

So what time limit would you suggest man?

My competitiveness demands that I take it seriously but I can't really be bothered putting in the effort to build/draft a team, haha. Plus we ended up with even numbers so it worked out well.

Maybe 6 hours?
