Anyone use this? For those wondering heres the site

http://www.poker-edge.com/

Basically its a program that will bring up stats of all the players on your table and essentially sort out the fish from the sharks, send you to tables where you can be most profitable. Figure out who the calling stations are and the maniacs. Its expensive but handy. A friend of mine uses it to varying success and considering he sucks at poker (worst tilter ever) this is quite amazing. Anyone got any good stories about it?

Looks like their database is pretty poor. I looked up my Cake profile, and it came up with 61/46/0.5. It's so off it's not funny (should be closer to 35/22/2 for 6max limit). Looks like they only have a few hands on me (despite the fact I've played quite a lot recently), and/or have shorthanded or heads up hands. My Prima stats are much closer to the mark. Interestingly, this could explain why a player on Cake said he "looked up my stats" and called me a "massive fish" and was astonished at how I could win so much with such bad stats - I didn't know what he was talking about at the time.

Also the analysis does not appear to take number of players or type of game into account. Therefore a player that they say is a "calling station" or "fish" may be nothing of the sort.

I suspect if you play NL 6max on Stars or Tilt, this may be useful. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. Make sure you get PokerTracker or Holdem Manager before you bother with this.

Theres two versions of Poker Edge. They have a MUCH MUCH more detailed version at a cost of 600 a year IIRC (might be 600 US) and the stats are remarkable accurate.

Personally I think the whole things a bit dodgy to say the least. Im looking at ways to hide my stats but I need to be a PokerStars member or something. Its alot harder to do then it should be as far as i can see
