I have recently downloaded the poker tracker 3 software so i can record my history as I have decided I want to improve my game. Have found it quite interesting, and it has even made me play a little tighter already as I'm trying to get good results. I have found it pretty accurate, up until last night when I won a sit and go, but it recorded me as not making the money. Now I know it's only 1 sit n go but I was wondering how accurate the program actually is. Does anyone use the same program and have they enxointed the same problems or have I don't something wrong?

haven't used it, don't have any software since paddypower stopped australians on their site and the paddypower software doesn't work with other poker rooms.

but by the looks of it poker crusher is better, although a bit more expensive....

It's accurate, it's just a matter of setting it up properly.

I don't play SNGs, so can't help you there. Maybe see if you can find the hands from that particular SNG, and see where it went wrong.

Had a quick look through that particular SNG and it all seemed ok. Guess I will have to have a proper look at it next time I'm playing. Just out of interest, is it possible to delete all the previous hand histories it has recorded so I can start from now?

Yeah, should be able to just by clearing your designated Hand History folder.

You would also need to "purge" the database.

For the record, I am using Holdem Manager which has an integrated HUD and is pretty excellent all around. I tried Poker Tracker, but got frustrated at the delay for PT3 to support the rooms I play at despite promises going back to March (HM supports everything pretty much). I also have Poker Office, but I don't like it as much as HM.

With tournaments you need to export the summaries to get finishing results etc.

You can change them manually, so go in and change the results to reflect your win.

What other type of poker software/websites do people use?

I have been using officialpokerrankings.com and sharkscope.com just to see which type of games I have the greatest ROI from but nothing more advanced than that. Interested to see if anyone uses something like CalculatemPro or another software which helps them in game. My friend uses Dan Harringtons program (forget what it's actually called) which tells him what M-Zone he's in and what type of range of cards he should play - he says that it helps but it seems pretty straightforward.

Are the programs that help evaluate hand histories really that helpful? And, any good strategy websites that anyone can recommend?

Edit: I also use PokerStove from time to time (usually when I bust deep in a tourney) just to see if I actually made the right play against his supposed range.
