Polak

CC named two players who did not play against Collingwood and who will be considered for this weeks semi-final. Polak was not one of the names mentioned.

Polak missed the first NAB Cup game because of "general soreness" surely he would be right by now if that was his problem. Makes you wonder what the real problem is. Disiplinary reasons perhaps??

You'd think he'd have to get a few games under his belt at WAFL level to push for a place in the side atm. He's behind the rest of the squad up forward and people seem to think it's unlikely that they will use him down back.

I don't really get why we don't use him down back! We've tried him up forward and that hasn't really worked out. We've got the two main forward positions covered though and so why not use him in defence where he is capable of being an absolute gun! Any other team would love to have a defender of his talent and courage in their defence!

Seems like there are off field issues! I don't really get why he's being managed like this! Seems a waste!

What makes you say theres off field issues ??

Last time he had issues, Freo was very public with it so surely the unbiased journalistic cream of the country's press would have picked up on it this time around.

Just a thought really, seems strange that he was out with general soreness from the first NAB game and is still out. Either way, I hope to see him play soon, they should certainly give him a run before the season proper! :)

The coaching staff know what Polly can do. Better to make him sweat a bit and see what the MJ's , Potatoe's , Rabbits can do in the preseason.

Polly won't be holding anything back when he finally does get a run.

Win Win.

speculation, speculation, speculation. Give the bloke a go and as someone said Freo have been very open about outside issues with the media, give it time i'm sure our boy will be back :D

Without a doubt. And I don't think his running around the forward line for the Gummies would do him, or us any harm. He could get some confidence back, and also show all the doubters exactly how good he is. with Woewodin and Macmanus in their midfield he should get some supply.

And I'm quite happy to have Murphy/MJ/Warren in for the whole preseason and the first two rounds. They're not going to learn sitting on the pine. Murphy especially has a lot more talent than he is showing and needs a chance to consolidate.

Hit the nail on the head Doc, Murphy has the talent and needs the time to settle and gain some experience and confidence.

Polly running around Shark Park cant do any harm to him or us. We deserve some payback for being the AFL draft nursery.

Im glad that I can find some level headed fans and supporters that actually look outside the picture and not instantly doubt polak and all go into crisis mode, brewing up these ridiculous speculations. Good work fellas.:p

If CC had balls he would banish this hack to the WAFL like Woosha did with Gardiner and McDougall.

His off field issues are no different to those of Cousins ;)

We dont know he has got any issues - hes injured.

Or do you think the press here is so incompetent they dont get a whiff of something being hidden ??

So buzz off !!

Happy has surpassed Polak for the third forward spot at the moment.

They are such different players. Polak a marking tall, ;earning FF, strong in defence. Gilmore much more mobile, can't say his marking has stood out, and probably a better shot at goal (too earlt to say). They may be competing for one spot, but seem to have different skill sets. But for mine the talls in the forward line would be Pav, MacP and JLo.

i would rather have polak to be honest i nthe backline then gilmore he has cleaner hands and has good pack marking skills then gilmore even though both neeed to improve their kicking skills.

Fair enough, but I don't think Gilmore is being considered for the backline. We seem to have LOTS of options ahead of him; Johnson, Murphy, Thornton, Polak, Mundy. If he is going to get a gig it looks like a midfield/forward; looked to have a run-with role on Fraser at times last weekend.
