Polak

Heard a bit of this Rodan recruit of the year caper among others including Tarrant, but I reckon Polak has flown under the radar due to our poor season.Been a great pick up.

Solid big-bodied player who, the Tigers need a few of. Scored 130 or so in Supercoach which helped sink my side, and had a clean game with no clangers or frees against.

He has been absolutley brilliant this year for us so far, and is still very young...
will get better and better as the season goes on
and hopefully can be our CHB for the next 6-8 years
Great pick up IMO:thumbsu:

But another to be making an impact as a ruckman, rather than a forward is Ottens. He's a super ruckman, who has been a major factor in Geelong's resurgence. King played the two games the Cats lost to Hawthorn and the Kangas, but Otto back in has turned it all around. Hoping K.K can play a similar positive role at Richmond, he did kick 50 goals in 3 seasons at Catland. He's got pretty good talent on that basis.

It sure will...if we had won a few more game i personally think he would be in the AA side if it was named today, if he keeps his form up you never no he might just get a spot come end of the year

had we not been in such p_iss poor form, this bloke would be talked of in AA plattitudes...unfortunately not winning a game yet will work against him

agreed...but i like the fact that Polak is flying under the radar, keep the attention away from him, i reckon he likes it that way:thumbsu:

wonder if santa still thinks it was a mistake trading down from pick 8 to 13 and trading down a late pick to pick up this guy.

Super pickup, has been great and dare i say it probably 2nd to foley atm in the B&F

He's surprisingly quick as well. Against Lucas when he decided to follow him on the lead he not only went with him but beat him to the ball a few times. Think his scope for improvement or 'upside' is enourmous when you consider the reports on how unfit he was.

.... and he what 22-23 years old. Best recruit (age and Talant) the club has secured since I can remember. And he will get a lot better when he gets fitter and stronger. He is the real deal.

Polak is still young and our future in the backs looks brighter each week with Polak and thursfield hopefully forming a good relationship as the KP players.

Throw in an improving Mcguane and Raines running it out of the fifty and there is hope.

To be quite honest .. i dont rate mcguane quite as highly as some other people do, IMO i think he needs to improve his disposal dramtaically to hold down a spot in our back half...and along with 75 percent of our current list needs to put on quite a bit of muscle, saying that though he is still very very young and raw,and hopefully develops into a good fullback / back pocket for us in the years to come:thumbsu:

i know polak is great. i just dont know how people can sya it was a bad deal, hes big (what we need) goeas alright and also the key hes young!

Football is a team game. Who cares how good some of your older recruits are playing if the team can't win a game?
We do numb nut! Go back to bed... your sister is calling.:thumbsd:

although its early days yet im happy to say so far this yr im eating humble pie.

who played on lucas bowden or polak or a combination of both. lucas killed us and as our chb you have to ask how good a game was it from polak as well as he went.

I shudder to think what you'll manage to find to critisise when we're winning :p

Polak rotated between playing on Lucas, to playing loose man in defence (most common spot) and ruck. He got 25 possies, many contested, 12 marks or so and used the ball great. Lucas got a few goals from turnovers when our defence was unsettled and he snuck back to catch them off-guard. These are things we will learn in time and all of our backmen are to blame.

most of lucas' possesion was up the wings. and also he is one of the best chfs in the comp.

whenever he did follow him up the ground, he matched him on the lead easily, even beating him to the ball several times
