like him but need to become tougher and be able to do the physical stuff. there were a few time in the last couple of matches where i thought he was in good position and could spoil. i think lucas managed to mark uncontested on the goal line, with polak next to him.

Polak rotated between playing on Lucas, to playing loose man in defence (most common spot) and ruck. He got 25 possies, many contested, 12 marks or so and used the ball great. Lucas got a few goals from turnovers when our defence was unsettled and he snuck back to catch them off-guard. These are things we will learn in time and all of our backmen are to blame.

YOU SEE THATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US BENNY I DONT JUST SEE THE POSSESIONS, LUCAS WAS THE DIFFERENCE HAD 25 POSSIES AND KICKED 3 GOALS 5. IF HE HAD OF KICKED 7 AND SHOULD HAVE IT WAS GAME OVER AND FERALS EVERYWHERE WOULD BE ASKING QUESTIONS.

SHIT IM SORRY ABOUT THE CAPITAL LETTERS TO LAZY TO DO IT AGAIN. LETS FACE IT THE PRIMARY ROLE OF A DEFENDER IS TO DEFEND AND STOP THE OPOSITION.

although its early days yet im happy to say so far this yr im eating humble pie.

He spent a lot of time rotating in the ruck after doing a pretty sound job on Lucas early.
Damn shame we keep having to shuffle him around, he looks absolutely fantastic at CHB. He's good at stopping and creating too but it's his marking ability that is worth it's weight in gold.

Such sure hands both above the head and at ground level.
His disposal may look a touch ungainly but I've barely seen him miss a target this year.

We are starting to see why this guy was a no4 dp in the superdraft.
He is blossoming big time at the moment.

I'm a massive fan, best thing to happen to our defence in a generation.

Paul 'banished to the forward line' Bulluss, now there's a name to make you laugh. I always remember seeing an ad in 'Fighting Tiger' saying 'Paul Bulluss is looking for work. Will do bar work, retail, anything!'

IMHO our last good genuine CHB was Stuart Wigney. He had a great 95 before breaking his ankle against Sydney. I heard he went on to work at the Olympic Dam uranium mine after leaving Richmond. Could have some interesting father/son selections down the track if that is the case!

LOL'd, been a while since we've had a genuine CHB, was always a make shift - Bowden, Kelleway,Chaffey, B.Holland, nice to see big Polak there.
