Police Clearances

Yes I need one for a job, and no I *don't* have anything to worry about . . . I hope

Just wondering:

- How long are they valid for

- Does the one clearance cover you for more than one job?

Don't know about validity, but you can use it for more than one job AFAIK.

I think they are valid for 3 or 5 years and yes you can use them for more than 1 job.

In child care we have to update ours yearly if we go for a new job. But yeah they're valid for however many years you need it for, I guess it depends what type of job you go for.

I went down to the local police nick today and got one. Also heard on the police radio that something dodgy was going down at a fast food joint in Gosnells - someone was causing a disturbance and throwing food at the manager.

call me stupid but what is a police clearance?

is it like a dear mr boss this person killed someone but he's got a clearance from the police so its ok.

Basically it's a check of your criminal record......it says whether you've ever been convicted of a crime or have anything on your record.

In jobs like child care, well at least at the centre I'm currently at, you have to have a completely clear record to work there. Which, thankfully, I have.
