Lets be clear the current breed of radical lefties don't want to adhere to the long-held principle of equality before the law within our national borders. They are fundamentality attempting to change this principle.

They want equality of outcome for all, including non citizens. They can't even define what a citizen is, beyond who holds an Australian passport.

Until recently Australians regardless of their politics understood that being a citizen meant a loyalty to your country. You can quite clearly see the underlying contempt for this country that exists in a few that post on here.

I am beginning to see who the people are who would dob their own friends and family in to their communist overlords if it meant their own personal safety. Cowards !

Just wondering, when it comes to undesirables from countries that we don't have a cultural alignment with, did Australia deport Nicolaas Bester, the paedophile groomer school teacher from South Africa that sexually abused Grace Tame, then after his conviction continued to harass and threaten her online?

This is a great question! and I see Taylor has started discussing it.

I will note that it is incredibly difficult to get any type of Visa into the US if you have a criminal record. A friend of mine who runs a not for profit for teen adicts had a record for something he did 20 years ago. They won't let him in.

Can you please explain how this is not a contradiction?

Equality before the law for Australian citizens means they are all judged according to the same agreed system.

Equal outcomes for all, means the outcome is the same no matter the crime or the outcome is designed to facilitate a certain result based on indelible characteristics.

Can please you further explain this and give some examples?

The biggest one used worldwide is the amount of dark skinned people in prison in the US for possession of drugs, then comparing the outcome of white people presenting to court for a possession charge.

When the non black person isn't sent to prison it is declared unequal, but it is because the black man had a much longer criminal history and was initially charged with trafficking but took a plea deal to lower it to possession.

That's an example of how you can be equal under the law but not have equitable outcomes because we are all individuals with unique history that determines how a judge delivers the justice.

And here in lies the problem with modern day 'conservatism'. It's been hijacked by populist nationalism.

A true conservative would roll over in their grave at the thought of abandoning the principle of equality before the law.

Yet, here we see people who have decried the 'leftists' for seeking to undermine fundamental principles of our society advocating for enshrining inequality before the law.

A violent and ghastly crime of this nature should evoke an emotional response but the answer is not discarding fundamental principles. Justice can only be served if all are equal before the law.

Shame.

These guys on here are like the play book of sky news Australia

Yes, a large number of lefties are remarkably silent at criticizing the treatment of women at the hands of Muslim men at the same time as being incredibly loud in their virtue signaling by calling out all men for dv against women.

Is raising the topic of immigration levels racist ?

No, excluding people on the basis of race is racist. Excluding them on the basis that we don't have enough vacant housing available to house them meaning the money they are bringing to help our economy is going to drive up the cost of housing for everyone.

We should pause immigration, build bulk cheap housing for students/singles/hermits, then open the flood gates and boost the economy.

It's either that or immigrants are excluded from existing housing options which I do not like.

Surely if a person is criticising all men, then Muslim men are included in that criticism? Why do you see the need to make the distinction between Muslims and anyone else? Isn't all domestic violence bad?

Stopping immigration is a very simple solution to a fairly complex. It unfortunately does not account for immigration being an important part of modern economies. I’ll be honest I can’t really explain it but this articles seems to summarise the key points

Unfortunately there is no 1 solution to the housing crisis and it will likely rely on time and a whole bunch of smaller to changes to pretty much everything in the industry. Continuing to increase the numbers of houses built, restricting student immigration whilst continuing worker immigration, aligning negative gearing with how other countries do it so you can only write down investment income etc.

Realistically there is no quick fix for this because tbh it wasn’t a quick decline either. This has been coming for a while.

Friend whose son works in the building industry, which desperately needs qualified tradesmen, says immigrants that have been sent to his company were only asked two things when they applied for a work visa:

1. Have you worked on a construction site?
2. Are you a qualified barista?

He swears it’s true, stated by the people sent to him.

I don't think it's in the interests of the trade unions to have trade skilled immigrants. That may be why single digit percentages of our immigrants recently have been considered skilled.

It's actually because almost all are students paying full price to the unis. The unis walk away from an obligation to society when they let the community wear the cost while they pocket the profit.

The government signs off on the student visas. The unis get the full course fees. The government gets the economic improvement to avoid a politically inconvenient recession.

.... so maybe the two of them should be working together to not have the community cover the fallout of such increased demand.

Universities can borrow billions from the government and build the housing. They can pay it back with indexed principles like their students.

Yes, you would think that Mislim men would be included but there is a blind spot with some in their case.

Why is that ?

Anybody seeking to understanding that appalling state of tabloid journalism should read this.

‘The older I get, the younger I was’: What’s it like to be the subject of News Corp coverage?

"News coverage is fleeting, and only part of the story. It isn’t synonymous with truth. The politico-media industrial complex increasingly resembles an orchestrated, unregulated carnival ground onto which raw facts are dumped, picked over and rearranged to fit the showcase whose narrative runs on an adversarial binary. Holding a disproportionate slice of Australia’s concentrated media market, News Corp is not the exception, but the ruler. It is first and foremost a business. Businesses do not cover people; they commercialise and monopolise products, including human experiences, for profit."

When did that happen? I've never heard of anyone giving Muslim men a free pass for domestic violence? What are you talking about?
For example, the gang raping of young women in the UK by Muslim men.

You would think we could all be on board to eliminate that from society. Why is it predominantly only people on the right highlighting the problem?
