Strategy Pooeckert, Where thou, our goals come from?

...
Under the present structure we gave up a first and second round pick for a 200cm, 105kg midfielder.
And there my friend is your answer.
Too many midfielders and not enough HBFs means fewer goals.
Play Charlie on the HBF and it will start raining goals.

Dixon will come good. In the 2 weeks since Ryder has been back we have played league leading West Coast with all their tall defenders and Adelaide. We know that whomever #taliaisacheat stands generally cops a bath. Toddy coming back will help him.

Post bye our forward options will be Dixon, Watts, Marshall, The Gray Brothers (sic), Wingard, Neade/Johnson + goal kicking mids SPP, Boak, Polec and Motlop.

If we can't kick a winning score with that team then it's time for La Revolucion.

We have the personnel, no one could dispute that. What is at question is the way we use them. Unless Ken has a major rethink in our game plan nothing much will change. We will still rely on opportunist goals and Robbie Gray.

For the record Charlie Dixon is averaging 14.4 disposals and 4.5 marks per game in 2018 which is well above his career average of 11.7 and 4.0. If he had been getting that many possessions inside or near the fifty mark he would be kicking goals, or at least having shots on goal. Charlie Dixon is not out of form, Charlie is winning his share of the ball and does not need to 'come good', Charlie simply needs to be played closer to goal.

For weeks and weeks we lamented that Ryder's injury had forced us to take Dixon out of the forward line. Now Paddy is back and we are still playing Charlie somewhere in outer space. On the strength of what I have seen in the last few games you could put Franklin, Hogan and Brown in a side coached by Ken Hinkley and it would still be left to the likes of Robbie and Sam Gray to do all the scoring.

Vive La revolution.
