As a bulldog supporter i thought that Rocca was quite poor, he dropped a few marks which he should have taken and didn't keep up with Grant when Grant went up the field, Grant easily beat Rocca although Rocca got 3 goals.
Hrant would ran up the field and get possession and nearly took a mark in the forward line when Rocca was no where near him.

Woewodin although im not sure how he played overall in the game had a poor last quarter where he dropped a mark in the backline and had a pass intercepted in the Collingwood backline.

Bucklry whil he had a reasonably good match I thought was disappointing at stage in teh first half, Boyd who was on him got quite a few disposals in the first half and a goal without any competition from his direct opponent Buckley. Buckley did play well but should have tried to stop Boyd a bit more.

Good game Collingwood overall. Dropped quite a few marks which should be taken but good overall

Rocca kicked 4, not 3. He looked rusty early but thought he played well overall. Especially in the last term. We needed him back badly.

Bad luck Dogs. You fellas do everything but win the game.

I must have been watching a different game. Rocca looked very rusty and very tired in the last quarter. However when we needed him to take the big grab he did so. When a CHF kicks 4 goals then you would have to say he has won his individual battle with the CHB.

As for Buckley he was not up to his usual standard which made him about the third best on the ground. To suggest that he might have been beaten by Boyd can only be made by a Dogs supporter.

Woewodin made mistakes but showed a lot of courage and did a lot of useful things. As he gets a bit more game time in his legs he will get better.

After half time we played like the team that made the last two grand finals in intensity if not necessarily in skills but it was enough to win and that is all that counts at this stage.

Rocca's great talent is to only have 10 or so touches and kick 4 goals. He showed (despite being rusty) how valuable he is to us. As for Buckley if the guy doesn't have 40 touches we say he's been average, a good effort from him. Woey showed a great deal of guts at times and hopefully that will help some of the doubters to finally get behind him.

Rocca was poor, yet he still kicked 4 goals? Get off it. He should have kicked straighter, and he would have had 6. He played well, but he could have had even more impact on the game, but that is a good sign for Collingwood.

I don't know how people can say Grant beat Rocca, when Rocca kicked four goals on him.

I was at the match gotta say did look a bit rusty
but i went home and watched the last quarter and they had after the match interview with him and he said he stuffed his knee or something he had like a huge woond or something nothing serious.

how good was fraser in the second half

Suppose you think the bloke up the other end had a good game do you? Judging by his kicking for goal Rawlings should still be down back.

Come on guys, Pebbs was hurting so much in the 2nd half, yet still gave a terrific target. I thought that all things considered, it was one of Anthony's better games for the club - very, very admirable effort to play with an injury.

Scott Burns was the difference yesterday - 9 clearances in 3 quarters is simply amazing. Fantastic stuff from the most underrated bloke in the AFL.

I agree with leonmagic . Scott Burns was outstanding after half time with the centre clearances . Fraser had a good game as well , Cole was good early , Davis provided spark in the 2nd half , Wakelin was good along with Johnson and Bucks , and Taz and Rocca both had great games .

There is a bit more to it than how good Rocca played.
He does two things that are so important to the team structure that they are immeasurable.

1. He staightens the whole team up, they actually look towards CHF when coming out of the back line or off the wings.

2. He takes the oppositions best defender and sometimes two defenders. As a result Tazz can roam free anywhere forward of the centre line.

I thought Rocca was very good on Saturday! Looked a bit underdone but that will come with more game time.

The big thing was how much he straightened us up!! Unlike last week against the Tiges we were able to win it in the middle (Great game Burnsy) and bomb it long and with Rocca at CHF it actually felt like we were going to win the ball inside 50. A feeling I have not had since the Prelim final against Port last year!!!

I think the whole Pies forward line (particularly Davis) play a hell of a lot taller when Pebbles is playing and I hope that he stays fit and well along with most of the boys.

I for one have been taking mental notes of everyone that has already written us off and I can't wait to give it all back to them!!!
