It was a great game of football. The umpires made some terrible decisions along with their no-calls.

Regardless there were positives coming out from the game tonight.

1.Monfries was great on McLeod
2.Close game despite Lloyd and Lucas not having their usual influence in games.
3.Our kids
4.The kick-ins, improved a lot.

Any more?

Lucas is one game closer to being effective.

Houli, Lonergan, Reimers, Myers and Monfries all played well.

McPhee kicked 3.0

We put pressure on the Crows when they had the ball.....we made a contest

We didn't make the stupid errors that were so devastating in the 1st half last week.

David Myers. Won a few clearneces and looked good
Lonergan, superb
McPhee, looks better as a HFF rather than a key CHF
Fletcher was back to his best
Lovett was very good
Monfries had a big impact on the game without touching the footy much

It was just nice to have a competitive and close game

1. The tackling intensity was first rate, really happy with it

2. We looked good at the stoppages, probably broke even with them and that's without Watson

3. Our backline stood up... We also looked much better coming out of the backline, not so stagnant (half-forward was where it fell down)

4. Some awesome efforts from young players: Lonergan was fantastic, Myers very solid, Monfries had his best game of the year and so did Winders. Reimers shows alot of promise, I just wish he would measure his kicks, he seems to be intent to get as much distance as he possibly can.

5. Myers' snap

6. They all had a redhot crack, no passengers at all, very proud of the boys :thumbsu:

We seem to finally have some ball winning ability in Lonergan, Myers, Houli and Hislop (although he was quiet tonight due to injury).

Winderlich is getting back into some form.

Hille played all 4 quarters at a high standard.

Disposal was much better.

Tackling was great.

Kicked at goal accurately.

Myers is looking great.

Lonergan looks like a good in and under type, stood up well against guys like Thompson and Goodwin

Reimers finding lots of the ball. Now Knights just needs to find his proper position.

Winderlich back in some sort of form. Even if he plays up forward for most of the year, we look liek a better team with him in.

Apart from Lonergan, I thought Lovett's attack on the ball was pretty good. There was the one play where he went through 100 miles an hour, clean pick up but got caught. I can cop that.

Bucks said something similar.

They were my exact thought walking out of the ground.
Believe me, iv'e seen some shithouse performances here but tonight had me very optomistic

The main postive was, we had a real dip. good stuff to watch for a supporter, the only thing we didnt get was the 4 points

It was great to see the team things this week. When you watch teams like Geelong they always look for the best option even when they could have a shot on goal. Last week there were a couple of selfish acts that made me cringe but i loved the first quarter tomight when Stanton used his left and centered the ball. Winderlich did the same, it's great to see some composure in the forward line.

Also was great to see Myers get a bit more of the ball.

Finally starting to see some ball winners other than Watson, Sammy Lonergan hold your head up high, your effort was fantastic.

And it was great to see our percentage increase even though we lost!

Definetely improved....
Myers was good
monfries was great on mcleod
lonergan....our best? probably
mcphee
Lovvet
Hille

everyone else played well and if it was a different situation....(eg at the telstra dome) we might have won

still a great game of footy:) one of the first losses ive been proud of:):)

id hate to say i told you so. everyone gave mcphee hell on here after each game. of course he isnt going to be at his best at CHF i mean he is only 189cm tall. key CHF are normally in the high 90s, i mean look at brown, reiwoldt etc...
he is a very good player and will show his worth from this point on.

Spot on. Many positives tonite. Bachar was much better this week and Myers showed some really encouraging signs. Needs to work on his non-preferred kicking skills. Scotty L can only be better for the run and Mcphee will benefit from his continued presence
The effort by nearly all was great , we need to maitain that level.

Sam L just looks like he is built to live in the middle of a pack. He is just so clean in traffic. What I really like about his game is how quickly he thinks in traffic. Not just handballing to a target, but tackling as well. 2nd and 3rd efforts in the contest just great. Once he gets rid of it or lays the tackle, you can see he is thinking what he needs to do next - many guys are thinking about the last handball they gave etc.

Oh yes.. and David Myers:D Loved how all the players swamped him when he kicked his first goal - gold! I feel that we may finally have that star kid we have been after for so long (paddy on the way too)!

I loved seeing us have a crack. I don't expect to win every game, but I do expect us to have a go for four quarters, which was great tonight.

We will be better next year. Being at the game for the first time this year, it was interesting that some of the young guys just didn't quite have the legs to go with the fitter and older Crows, but with another pre-season under their belt, that will improve.

Don't drop your bundle next week Bombers - you've set the standard for competitiveness and it needs to be matched week in week out!!!

I'd ridden him off but Fletch had a cracker! :thumbsu:

Monfries, most improved in now past 5 weeks (last week it was 4 weeks :D), he's getting better every week! His disposal was fantastic last night under slippery conditions!

Stanton's disposal was also very very good, I've been very impressed with his disposal over the last 2 weeks in particular, I liked the role he had last night... similar to Heath Shaw's at Collingwood, probaby perfect for Stanton's game.

Mcphee had a GREAT game, back to his best!

Lonergan was fantastic, if he plays like that every week and Watson comes back into the side, instead of having one we'll have two in-and-unders taking pressure off Jobe, might help Jobe's game! :thumbsu:

A win is just around the corner, Adelaide were probably just too experienced for us in the clutch though our boys did quite well... more experience in this area will obviously hold us in much better stead!

A positive is that Jetta can't play any worse.

I thought he was alright when he goes near the ball... That centering ball in the last was all class and smarts. The problem is that he seems to missing for massive chunks of the game. I'd just like to sehim string a 20 odd disposal game together to see how damaging he can be.

Where do I start!!

The pressure we applied on Adelaide was really good and consistant all game long!

Having Lucus and McVeigh back

Monfries did a great job on McLeod

Stanton! finally lived up to pre-season form

Myers is clearly a better player than Palmer

The whole team performance was good, I note they cut down on the handballing and were more direct, the second efforts were better and over all about bloody time. :thumbsu: :) :D
