Only two of our players played anywhere near their best when it mattered most, and we still got within 15 points (and probably should have lost by single digits only). Nobody could question our will for the contest, even as the nature of the occasion shredded the teams' collective nerves

Crowley's phenomenal powers of concentration came to the fore again as he put all the hype of the week leading in behind him and ruthlessly did his job superbly yet again. Surely the Doig Medal is his again after this exceptional finals series.

Mundy the clearance machine in the 3rd. Hopefully the entire football world can now see just how talented David is, and mention him in the same breath as the likes of other silky clearance merchants like Pendlebury and Griffen.

The much maligned Tendai Mzungu was far from our worst performer, and given his improvement over the course of this year, it is fitting that his reward is something nobody can ever take away from him - the honour of being the first Docker to kick a goal in a Grand Final.

Walters had a very quiet first half, but stepped up in the second to demonstrate his excellent big game temperament - and he should only get better from here.

And most importantly - never again will the Fremantle Dockers feel like they don't belong on the game's biggest stage, playing in front of a crowd about double the size of the previous largest. Never again will our players, and supporters, feel like mere participants in the AFL and not a genuine player. And NEVER AGAIN will we not have the one thing other than a premiership cup that we have craved since 1995 - the respect of the football world.

Walters has the ability to move into the middle a little more.

Imagine Walters using the ball forward of the middle.

Yeah, but you could get off the Tram.
I had the misfortune of sitting next to a drunken Neanderthal from western Australia today. Seems each fan base has their *******s.

Well done Freo and you will be there next year.
he was gutless enough to say it as we were getting off the tram!!

sorry to hear about your experience. Sadly all clubs have far too many halfwits in their ranks. We certainly have our share and its quite embarrassing.

Having been to 3 losing GFs (but missed 2010!!) the only positive is that trade period is around the corner and your loss is quickly forgotten by the media.
The other positive? The Ashes doesn't come to Perth so you don't have to see the Barmy Army dancing on the streets of East Perth.

Unfortunately, WCE supporters in this state lack the class of our Eastern States friends...they have been using this loss to sustain their erections and will do for some time.

Ohh and we do have the Ashes here in December :)

I had a gorgeous Collingwood fan come up to me at the meet we had at the Great Northern to wish us luck! :)
