Todays same was a realitiy check. Certain players were less than impressive and we got beaten by a far better side. Having said that there were a few good things that came out of the game.

Hayden in my view had a pretty good game, Pavlich was brilliant as per normal, that mark of Grover's was good to see and while Browne made a few huge blunders he looks promising.

I thought Hayden played a pretty good game today as well.
Pav played well for pretty much the whole game as did bell which has almost come to be expected.
I think the only real positive that we can take out of the game is that we played a very good side who, from their Wizard cup form would appear to be very much in top condition for the start of the season, yet we didn't get completely blown away in the second half. I thought at half time that we were in real trouble and if we weren't careful, but I guess in the second half we minimised the damage to an extent.

But hey, whether we like it or not, I think we're pretty much used to this kind of result. Hopefully the boys can bounce back and stick it right up the swans next week.

We wont be the first side to cop it at AAMI stadium, Pav ,Polak , Haze Des and the Ogre were very good, Macca , Grover , Hayden and Medders were good, the rest tried to run out the game and didn't give up at least.

The new travel arrangements did not make them look as flat as they have in the last couple of years.

I think they came up against a side that is cherry ripe at this time of the year and were outclassed. If they had of thrown in the towel I would be spewing but they didn't thereby avoiding what looked like a 100 pt flogging at one stage.

Good experience for the newbies which will pay dividends later.

The Ogre and Polack were both good. I had been concerned about Sandilands as I had seen a couple of average games from him in the WAFL but his step up has been good excluding the round 1 wizard cup match where I wasn't too impressed

I beleive fromt the out set Sandilands shouldve been at Full Forward
