post count decreasing???

although i haven't been on bigfooty for a while the last couple of times i'v ecome on i've been talking my post count from 480 to 495 or so but each time i come back it is on 480 again... what's going on???

blues^rock: In the past, if threads got deleted from a board, so too would users posts that contributed to the post. So if any of your posts were in a thread that is no longer here, that could be why your post count has decreased.

I don't like the new post updating ie every post you ever made is updated to your last post number. It was nice to be able to refer to say....Sabres post number 246 but now it has become 1239 or whatever,

actually blues^rock it is part of the new bigfooty "Quality not Quantity" policy.

Every night Bluey will go through each post on the boards and delete it if he feels it is not up to scratch. As such you may see your post count go down from time to time. This is mearly a reflection of the general community's assessment of the quality of your posts, and nothing to be ashamed about.

Take Dan for instance. Dan's post count went from about 5000 to 0 overnight following a review of the quality of his postings since the implementation of the policy.

If you are fortunate Dan will spend some quality time one evenning bringing back to the top of the screen all posts which are in fact about him. By then replying to each one of these posts with his own thoughts about him, he will endeavour to rectify the situation. In fact if you now check his post count you will notice that this has in fact happended and his post count is now back to levels we would normally expect.

Please feel free to continue posting and do not feel under any pressure to raise your quality. Remember feedback is a gift
