Postiga to Espanyol?

Is "espanyol" Portugese for "knackery"?

What a waste of money these overhyped Portugese kids are.

Postiga is rubbish. Viana is rubbish. Cristiano Ronaldo the jury is still out and won't be back in for a couple of seasons, but I'm not convinced.

Espanyol coach Luis Fernandez is set to approach Tottenham for striker Helder Postiga

It should actually read as follows:

We currently have no good news stories so we are just making up crap, with no sources hoping that someone will read our site. We figured we would pick Postiga because he hasnt scored yet (article was written on the 2nd) and he is not available.

He should not shoulder all the blame for West Brom's dominance down that flank though, as he was given no defensive help from Portugese whizzkid Cristiano Ronaldo whatsoever.

Ronaldo, all flashy white boots and prancing gait, made a fool of himself with his first touch when he triped over his own feet and lost possesssion

From the Mirror this morning.

I have been talking to a bloke at work about Ronaldo, he is a ST holder at Old Trafford, and reckons Ronaldo hasn't played a decent match since Bolton.

Say what you like about Beckham, but a key part of his game was helping out the defence, and it is here where Ronaldo shows nothing. I am sure his effectiveness going forward will improve in time, but unless he can add a defensive side to his game, I suspect he may never live up to his price tag.

He has been tracking back of late, but remember he is 18 years old. You don't see many 18 year olds with talent like that, the rest will come with time.

If you'd have been at Highbury on Tuesday you'd have seen about 5 of them.......oops I forgot one of them was only 16.:D

I realise there is a hell of a lot of improvement left in him. But until that happens he is in no way "the real deal" IMO.

Well it probably is time for him to move on that he has finally scored ...;)

His work there is done :D

Espanyol have only scored 10 goals in 14 games and are 2 points clear on the Bottom ATM.....

Surely they don't think Helder will ease their scoring woes

Tottenham will be glad to see the back of him i suspect. How he is playing top flight football is completely beyond me.

Prolly because he has been showing an extraordinary amount in training and is slowly producing it on the pitch. You people expect a 20 yo from another country to come in straight away and score 20 goals. The fact that he has been able to have the opportunities is a credit to him.
Obviously you didnt see his goal yesterday.

no i didnt but after having so many chances to score goals over the last month, one of them had to go through eventually. He is a poor finisher and wastes even the simplest of oppurtunities to kick goals. The Arsenal game a few weeks ago was the perfect example

See the underlined

I'll give Spurs $20 for Postiga to play soccer in my backyard with me. I might be able to teach him something about finishing and sell him back for $100.

Well this one was a very well taken goal. I have it on Pc and also have links to it if anyone actually wants to see it before shooting off. Heaven forbid a 20 year coming from a foreign country finds it difficult to adapt. You people are very quick to forget how crap so many foreigners were when they first came. Its called adapting. Its plain to see that the boy has talent and will turn it around.

The ball was gifted to him by Sinclair inside the box with only the keeper between Postiga and the net. The goal was no more than I would expect any striker in the league to score (except maybe one of ours at the moment :().

Apart from that the most impressive aspect of his game was his ability to fall over the second a City player came near him.

It was something I would expect all strikers in the league to score also. Thats why Im glad he scored it, it shows that he should be in the league :)

Although the angle of his body made it less straight forward than a gift.

look how long forlan took and now he has 7 goals in all comps this season, that would be better than some of the no.1 strikers at other clubs and he is very much second fiddle to RvN. postiga is 20 and i havent seen much but he wasnt too bad in what i have seen. he will be a decent player and could strike up a good partnership with bobby zamora if they give them time
