Potential draftee from Box Hill

Posted this on the Hawkers board but its a bit quiet over there at the moment

I have read in my local rag at home that Kristan Height of the Box Hill Hawks is doing pre-season with Hawthorn in the hope of being drafted

He is a nuggety small forward who came runner up in Box Hills B&F and was named in the VFL's team of the year

Has anyone seen him play? Does anyone think he is a chance to be picked up?

Don't think he's got a big chance. Very capable player - reliable kick and uses his body size amazingly well. Very capable in one on one battles.

Knows where the goals are, but I wouldn't call him an out and out roving forward and he is quite small.

Good luck to him, but Steve Kenna had a more impressive season the year prior and didn't go til 75.

Who was the ruckman, no.41, in the prelim vs Werribee?

Had a good day and along with the blond guy (no. 3) - who had 3,749 uncontested possessions across half-back (Prendegast, grrr...) - killed us.

Michael Rix. Was on our list this year but is not on our list now due to being too old for the rookie list. He's improved in leaps and bounds since he came to Box Hill in 2003 from Port Melbourne.

Don't know if he'll get another crack at AFL due to being too old for the rookie list now.

#3 was Steve Bailey who went to the VIC screening camp.

Out of everyone, the most likely to get picked up is Simon Taylor and thats a rookie list at Hawthorn at best, Height is a slim chance and Bailey would be rookied if he wasn't to old, some clubs might be willing to give them a crack, but it seems unlikely!

Simon Tayler punctured a lung and is in hospital tho. Out for a while
