For the love of god these words describe everything about us in 2007

PERSPECTIVE: Im sorry but 5th on the ladder is a good spot to be in, with some good games to come, players to come back and a chance to do something if we regain confidence and structure. Tell me out of any of you who would have expected to be in this position before the start of the season. I'm not afraid to admit I didn't purchase a reserved seat membership becasue I didn't think we'd play finals this year.

Patience: As stated above, most of us wouldnt have expected this years progression and we all know the scope for improvement.

Perseverance: It's the first time we've dropped two in a row this year. THe coaching staff will be quite obviously dismayed about today. Structure was non evident going forward and at times our backline disposal and decision making reaked of the last three years. But the players will work as hard as they can to rectify the situation, look at all the good things we have done this year, the beleif is still there its just gone missing just like many said it would. Maybe better to get through a tough patch now, regroup for the finals etc. Better now than a 20 goal embarrassment in spetember.

PRIDE: As much as we shouldn't eat our own, some people have made some disturbing comments in the last 3 hours. PRIDE is important, we weren't beaten by 16th, we were beaten by a hungry side 2nd on the ladder playing confidnet accountable football. Take pride in the sides achievements this year, whats the point in tearing the players and coaches to shreds, I gets us as a collective nowhere.

For what it's worth this is my 2 cents, people should take note that a lot of the senior posters on this board (myself NOT included) do not stoop to the level of taking thinly veiled swipes after a bad loss. The sun will rise tomorrow and we prepare for next week.

I expected to maybe cop a little, but the senior guys on this board will not over react to things.

We must take heart and steel ourselves. It's now more than ever that our support can make a difference.

While watching the game today on the couch with a few friends and distinguished big footy posters, we joked (emphasis on the word joked) that there would be some threads instigated by a few infamous posters highlighting the positives from todays diplorable effort. Say what you want, but we were shocking today, our footskills were the worst they have been in years, decision making appauling and our game plan was woeful. Yes Tuck showed some promise, and at the start of the season if offered to be 5th on the ladder at this stage in the season we would have taken it. That is all rubbish. We have showed we can be the best in the league, regardless of those expectations at the start of the season, we should not ever be content with a match like today. I pity those who are ridiculed for being realistic. This a poor thread

Where did i say anythign about today being a positive?

I think if you read it you will see that we lacked structure, and our back line disposal resembled our last three years.

You and your little discussion about what is posted on this board gets us no where. NEGATIVE shit will get us no where. WE ALL realise that today was terrible and there can't be any positives. I am mearly commenting on the fact of what we have achieved thus far.

And as for calling it a poor thread, don't like it, don't reply SIMPLE

why not risk a below 100% buddy if we had a good chance of a win today.....

this may well be our demise or it may well be good that buddy had the day off..

I can certainly understand your disappointment. My 3 yo daughter wants to know why I was yelling at the telly all afternoon and she couldn't watch Hi-5. Our disposal today was as bad as I have seen and man could we pick out the opposition with kicks from defence.

But fair dinkum, we were missing our best mid (and most probably our b & f leader) and we had only one player in the forward line who would be a first selection in "the box". (Apologies to Dicko. I love him, but not quite as much as my partner does ). We are missing our best goal kicker this year and the one who has been our leading scorer for 2005 and 2006. And we debuted Tuck and Dowler was only playing his 3rd game. Our best forward today is 20, he couldn't even have finished an arts degree. What this means is that 3rd best forward gets best defender, Dicko gets second best defender etc (leaving Croady aside). I'm sure you get the picture - better players to play loose / run off etc.

Be patient we are developing our depth and growing as a club. We will forge a dynasty.

Nice post. We are not a club that is just going to fall apart after 2 losses. We will learn, we will improve and we will get more wins on the board. Faith guys!

Keeping to the P theme.
You can be positive and passionate, and you can be pessimistic and passionate.
The positives are looking at the whole season and seeing it as a bit of a slump and 2 bad losses. They have enough belief to think we can turn it around.
The pessimists are seeing 3 very bad losses in 4 weeks, and know that if we do not lift our form we will let a great opportunity slip.

The positives need to see the wood for the trees, and the pessimists need to share their thoughts without too much vitriol.
