Friday February 8th - I think that is the correct date (2nd Fri in Feb is that it??). Intra club practice match and "Family night" at Coorparoo.
Once again looks like no "inter club" practice matches, just this 'intra club' one, and jumper presentation, family night etc.
Don't expect it to be 'HUGE', they never 'budget' for something HUGE up here!!!!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! Wasn't the last inter club praccy match we had being the one at Southport against Geelong early 1999, where it cost ppl UP TO $55 a head to get in depending on which temporary stand you wanted to inhabit???? That was the one where they called a player-on-the-field head count.
Ooops NO!!! Didn't we have intra club matches at Coorparoo in 2000??? I don't think I was able to attend............

that was when we played St Kilda i think...
i think that may have been the game u may be thinking of
they also played down at Southport Versus Melbourne
i didnt go to that game though
it is always good to go to the ressies practice matches
i love them...
but that's just coz the RESSIES ROCK!!!! PREMIERS 2001......
they played like 8 extra games over the seniors and that could be why they started to tire at the beginning of the finals series but who would have known it by the result of that last game in September......... they had a lil bit of a lapse... especially against the Eagles... but they found it within themselves to bring out the last dribs & drabs of energy to do it for themselves..... since alot of others really dont care....
they have their own song.....
BETTER... by the SCREAMING JETS..... if u know it... which i hope u all do as it is a great song....... fully.... no one cares....
we try to raise the profile of the AFLQ but some ppl just dont want to care about anything about the PREMIERS of the AFL..... ask a majority of lions fans & alot wouldnt know about the ressies triumph....... and alot of them would only have known from the 2 pages that the club...... SCROOGEilly.... (cool word) gave to the ressies to make known their outstanding achievements....
they all play under the same team name... under same banner... but of only they could be treated with some respect and get the same acknowledgement from the club that the seniors do......
