Telstra Dome with the roof closed would have been much better and would probibly mean at least 10,000 more "theatre goers" would rock up.
With Melbournes fickle spring weather as evidenced on sunday its a massive risk for thr VFL to play their GF at an outdoors ground when the Dome is avaiable at a no doubt discounted price - like the one they have offered to the soccer.

I like it, BUT the Telstra Dome would have pulled a bigger crowd and been a more family friendly venue, mainly because access is better, especially for those from Geelong (only one train to catch).

The inclement weather represented a massive missed opportunity to capture the Vic audience with what was a classic game of football.

The inclement weather should not have been an issue because the amount of undercover seating available at Princess Park.

I attended the O&M grandfinal in Albury and had to put up with 50km winds, burning sun, showers, hail and then to finish the day, icy conditions.

They were expecting 16-18000 at the game. The weather only reduced this to 14,250. So if a stadium that only has 1,200 undercover seats can draw that sized crowd why can't the VFL.

Maybe they should play the GF at Lavington :) as the ground holds close to 30,000.
