If you go 1km south, then 1 km east, then 1km north, and end up at the starting point, the only place on Earth that you could have started from is the North Pole. Therefore, the bear must be white.

A small cabincruiser is moored by a wooden jetty. The pylons of the jetty are marked to show how deep the water is. At high tide, the wooden pylons of the jetty are submerged to the 3 metre mark. At low tide, an extra 100 cm of pylon are exposed and the water reaches only to the 2 metre mark. Given that the rungs of the rope ladder hanging over the side of the cruiser are 25 cm apart and that at low tide 6 rungs are exposed, how many rungs will be exposed at high tide?

Rob, a budding coin collector, was sold a rusty old coin marked 50BC. He paid $2000 for it, although coins marked 2 thousand years later and in mint condition sold for a fraction of the price. Did he pay a fair price or was he rooked?

Six. Wouldn't the boat sit on top of the water, so whether it is sitting on top of 3 metres of water or 2 meters of water is irrelevant (I think!).

You would have to be braindead if you couldn't figure this one out.

Was ripped off!

Obviously a forgery!

A father and son were involved in a car accident. Both were rushed to hospital in a critical condition. The son was rushed into the emergency ward where the head surgeon was ready to operate. On seeing the boy, the head surgeon exclaimed "I can't operate on this boy-he is my son". How could this situation occur?

A father was in one car.....and the son of the surgeon was in the other..

Exactly..how could you predict the birth of christ 50 years early?
Much the same way that Bomber Spirit can tell you the score of a soccer game before it starts, I guess.

The surgeon is the Grandfather of the youngest boy and the father of the youngests father.

i.e. 3 Generations of the same family

A guy who lives on the 45th floor of an apartment building, leaves for work and every morning he catches the lift to straight to the ground floor.

When he comes home at night he always catches the lift to the 25th floor, gets out and climbs the stairs to the 45th floor.

But when it’s raining he comes home and catches the lift all the way to the 45th floor.

Why?

Cheers

The surgeon was his mother.

There are women doctors.

A guy killed himself by hanging. He was found hanging from a noose in an empty room, no furniture whatsoever, only a pool of water on the floor.

How did he get up there?

LOL, i've actually heard the that answer to the question before, but still couldn't remeber it!

I guess my mind just wont get around the fact that there are women head surgeons!;)

Docker Brat, you're quite right. Firstly with my one about the bear - as Bunsen Burner's pointed out, those movements could only get you back where you started if the hut was at the north pole, so therefore the bear had to be a polar bear and therefore white.
And you're right about the surgeon too. DB, you're a genius.

He was having a shower on the floor above, was playing with his soap on a rope which was hooked over the shower head...fell through the floor and got the rope caught around his neck....umm, that is all i can think of.;)

The one with the coin is a good one, how could someone living in 50BC know that Jesus would be born in 50 years and that the dates would be changed then?

I read a similar one to that somewhere about a war medal that was received at the end of WW1 and had the words "World War 1" on the medal. How do you know it was a fake?

He stood on a block of ice?

No one knew there was going to be a second world war at the time. And you were spot on with the surgeon question.
