Holy shit.

I just turned on my PS3 to play some LBP and it came up with the error message, "the hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored."

At this point I almost broke down into tears thinking I was going to lose all my data. But I had no other choice, so I restored it. Once the machine turned back on, it appears that everything is back to normal and all the data is there. So a bit of a relief for now, but im still a bit worried.

Has anyone else every encountered this problem?

That's one of the errors I got before the last firmware that had the update to fix it. I had to send mine to Sony for four weeks.

Last week I got the same message, just restore and everything is still the same. No need to worry.

Yep, got the same problem. It wouldn't let me restore it aswell.
I had to put the hard drive in a mate's PS3 and restore it on his.

i wonder what karls opinion on this is? Is this the PS3 version of the RROD/disc scratch?????? Never! hehe
But it restores the system, it doesn't wipe any data from the HDD, and does nothing else, basically all it does is wipe away some of the bugs that you have so you don't get something like an RROD only for the PS3.

Sounds like the HDD is crashing. My mp3 player does that occ. and I have to do a 'factory default' which just resets the HDD. I was worried it would ruin everything but I didn't lose any data.
