Looks like this years PSD is going to be a stinker. Not one quality player available.

Damn shame as we have pick 2.

We shouldn't look at any delisted players and I don't think there are too many out of contract looking to move.:(

I reckon we just wait and see what happens, usually at least 1 biggish name has a problem

in your boys case youll need two as we have number one.

at the moment the only player anyone might choose is Nick Smith. A developed ruckman that just needs a little more guidance and a chance. Carlton maybe with pick 1...

Nick Ries is experienced with 81 games under his belt and Brennan is a top 10 draft pick so maybe some worth there. Philip Read may suit essendon as well.

read couldnt cut it with west coast and he couldnt make it for melbourne, doubt it very much that we would acquire his services, id rather jolley.

meh rather keep lucy or go for another youngster in the draft

Notting not going to be there?

Dunno but if he was, id reckon that carlton would be willing to take him, despite smorgans policy on youth.

he turns 24 in feb next year and he is probably the best player avail at the moment so i think carlton will take him... baring any uncontracted players cutting ties... I do think Leigh Brown is out of contract... hmmm

Been a few years since a quality player was available in the pre-season draft

Correction, Notting isnt going to be 24 next feb he is actually 28 as of tomorrow.

Date of Birth: 21 October 1978.

IF he is available which will seem highly unlikely do you still think carlton will draft him as he falls outside the 24 and under recruiting policy?????

I think NOT- bombers would probably give him the go.

What's wrong with Campo or Mclaren? :p :D

I'd rather draft a kid if there isn't a decent player available but Notting would be an improvement on McGrath who was chopped today. An interesting decision to cut him because even good sides do need a depth player like McGrath to cover for the kids when they're developing.

LOL.....yeah shattered the Hawks missed out on Campo and Macca.

With the type of player likely to be available in this pre-season draft, i hope the Hawks go young.

Carlton a bit different, Notting would be a pretty handy pick up but he is 27-28 i think.

I think by chopping McGrath u will probably go young also. No point in picking up a Makepeace when u just chopped a similar player in Mcgrath
