Not if he wanted to play at Essendon. Regardless of what happens in the draft and what club says, a player choosing to train at a club shows intent. If Campo didn't want to go to Collingwood he wouldn't train there, even if invited in an effort to steer them away.

It has nothing to do with Cole, and everything with Collingwood deciding whether or not to take the best experienced player in the draft or the best kid.

Mate if Collingwood rang Campo's agent and said "we are taking him" then campo would be training at lexus Centre ASAP. Colllingwood know who they are going to take with 99% certainty. It is to their perceived advantage to keep their cards close to their chest. An example of this was a week before last years PSD carlton decided to take Betts. Yet Betts name was never mentioned. Dont think Collingwood werent ********ed to lose Cole. It was always felt that essendon would get Cole and it was just a matter of when.

Nah, because if he didn't want to play with Collingwood, he wouldn't want to train with them, he'd just want to stay as far away and hope they don't take him due to not seeing him prior the PSD.

What one reason would he have for training there if he didn't want to go there?

He would stay at Essendon and try and force Collingwood's hand, hoping that Collingwood wouldn't draft a player that didn't want to be there.

in the end we get a classy midfielder, he still averaged 20 possys in a very very bad team last year, who can kick goals. We will also get heffernan who will be able to play a negating role whilst adding leadership to our youngsters, he is still only 26 and knows how essendon plays.

Combined with Ryder, Demspey, lonergan and lucy i think essendon has added some depth into the side that has a good blend of pace, talls, negaters and match winners.

Providing they show the commitment of the sydney swans and not the arrogance of a damian cupido essendon could have a serious impact on the coming season.

Im glad we got campo for nothing, i didnt want to trade for him but a 300,000 contract seems a viable option providing its incentive based. I think the only reason he may have been picking possy's up in the back half for carlton was because thats where the ball was the most for carlton, in its back half. Also combined with todays game of flooding most midfielders would spend there time down there anyway, i think stanton and dyson could learn the most from him.
