Punting Board

This might seem a pretty crappy suggestion but what about a Punting board, where people can put on their best tip for the round of Footy, Rugby, Soccer etc or their best bets for the races on the weekend. They could also discuss punting theories etc.

Just my little suggestion.

Seems a good idea to me. However, I think making a board just for this individual thing is pushing it abit too far. It deppends how you are going to use it aswell. For a board to be put up, it needs to be more than atleast 10 threads a day in my opinion, and week punts could just be put somewhere else like possible the AFL of Match Previews board.
If you are also willing to make a punting game, you can also use the games board. But I like the idea of putting up punts each week

I think it could work. Say for example someone posts the early head to head odds for the weekends games, big race meetings, other sports, etc. Those in the know could help others decide when to put the house on it or when a short priced favourite is just too short to back. Certainly with the Spring carnival not too far away, people's tips or bits and pieces from around the track could also make it on this board. Nothing worng with trying to make some extra pocket money. I do however, realise that there is the argument that the kiddies can't be tempted to gamble, blah, blah. But kids aren't meant to buy booze or ciggies either. Basically everyone is accountable for their own actions therefore clearing the prestigious name of BigFooty.

It's not a bad idea Catman, however I'd put my gorilla on the table to say it probably wont happen just yet.

Good point Seth. The Carnival is only weeks away from the first main races of the spring and it would be a great time to start giving your tips for the big spring races or the EPL or any other sport.

If Motorsport gets a board then the punt should too.

Are we talking about actual bets been made between posters on a board specifically for it.
Few questions first.

1.Is it legal
2.Who regulates odds
3.What penalties would be enforced for non payment
4.Will there be an age limit

Well if its only DISCUSSING can you really justify a board, I mean how much DISCUSSION can there really be for most of the year.

Understandably melbourne cup day and grand final are exceptions.

Yeah, I don't know how we'd generate enough discussion to justify having it alongside the memorabilia board, the fantasy footy board, the American sports board and the booted members board.

I dare say it MAY even employ more people than WRESTLING does in Australia.
