Does anyone know if he can play forward? We have so many backmen now and he is a beautiful mover... would love to bring Goldsack in and send Cox forward

It would be nice to have Cox pushing up front.Does anyone know if he can play forward? We have so many backmen now and he is a beautiful mover... would love to bring Goldsack in and send Cox forward

Oh dear.Cox should hopefully be able to play in a number of positions (forward, on-the ball, doggy, reverse cowgirl etc.), but his demeanour and ability down back may see him become a Clement-esque rock down back.

He looked like he could handle full forward when i saw him play there for willy reserves on one occassion.
And yet none of this in jest. Bravo, Coin _Toss. My vote for 'most mature post in the face of adversity'.I think he would be good at stoppages through the midfield (at times), a strong body and he is a one-touch player (to some extent), but if he can keep performing to a level in which he may become a rock down back then his goalkicking days are numbered. Furthermore, he is balanced and nothing seems to worry him in the pressure situation.
Yeah, it wasn't nearly as big a deal until we got Dick and Goldsack...You know whats funny? Dean cox has never copped it like this bloke has. If he didn't debut in the same game as Dick, he wouldn't be being talked up like he is.
With Cox down back, it seems Maxwell is left without a spot.
I know MM has tried him up forward without much success, but i think he plays his best footy down back.
Its becoming a bit of a problem, too many decent backmen, not a bad problem let him assure you all.
I Like Maxwell, he is tough as nuts, and a pretty decent player, but with Anthony, and one of Reid and Brown looking to become kpp backmen is Maxwell a trade option?

No not crazy, has got the run and ability to get out of traffic, but needs to dispose more accurately. Something to consider one day.Id like to see O'brien given a go in the centre.
Am I crazy?
I see what you mean, but I mean as a future skilled replacement. Clement will also be on the cusp of retirement in 2 years. With Presty/Wakes not far behind. Maybe it is time for H Shaw to head wing? IMHO still think the forward line will be just as cluttered. But you may be right, as Rocca will be gone around same time as Presty/Wakes and Cloke/Dawes are still a work in progress, Cox will never be big enough to be KPP in forward line though will he?Don't know if we need another backman either
B: R Shaw Presty Clement
HB: H Shaw Maxwell O'Brien
With Wakelin and Anthony at opposite ends of the experience spectrum and Goldsack showing plenty in defence in the Magoos as well.. cant fit them all down back
Well right now I reckon we are short of a tallish forward because we lost Rusling who was going to be that 3rd option and Maxwell is just not cutting it for me, If Cox can play forward he just seems the perfect size and mobility for the specialist tall flank, he's actually 1 cm taller than Rusling at 191cmsI see what you mean, but I mean as a future skilled replacement.
