WTF

Is there just an obsession with starting new threads?

Honestly is people can see the difference between Pyke and Sando then I am gobsmacked

There has been some pointless threads this year however we now have a new winner
OH I dunno, I reckon he outdoes himself with every new thread!

Pyke is at the cross roads as head coach at our club right now.
He seems to be avoiding the majority of blame for shambles we see atm
Another year without finals and hes gone.

Sando sucked

Sando took the brunt of Triggs failings. Despite all the hoohah there is not that much difference at this stage.

Although I still have a bit of faith left in Pyke.

We are playing much better footy under Pyke.. this year injures killed us. Pyke did what 3 coaches since Blight couldn't do and that's get us to a GF. I will wait until after next year to start saying "sack Pyke".. big year next year for Pyke.. if we don't challenge and challenge well he will be sacked.

Pyke and Sando is like night and day, chalk and cheese, whatever.

Sando was all talk and no substance. Apparently the highlight of his coaching career was bringing in Dave Hughes to "spray" the players.

Pyke ****ed up with CM, but that's his only **** up to date. He's a smart man and I'm confident he'll learn from this, but we'll see. I think he's a bit hamstrung having to work with Burton though.

Sando umpired out a grand final then scandal after scandal he had no control over. Then Tex did his knee. Gun recruit injured.

Sando got it hard and lost his support structure then.lost the players

Pyke is facing a similar thing.

Thread insightful. Usual suspects bullying intelligence

Of course you would stick up for Sando. His showdown record must have made you and the other Port supporters jizz their pants.

Pyke hasn't had to deal with a 10th of the things Sando had to - lost head of recruiting, suspended CEO and senior assistant coach, lost draft picks - none of which had anything to do with him - not to mention inheriting a team that finished in the bottom four with an ageing list the year before.

Pyke obviously did a good job to get the team into a GF but people don't acknowledge how Sando and Walsh were the ones to get the games into the young guys that ended up being GF players.

Same as how Beveridge gets overrated for putting the finishing touches on what McCartney started at the Dogs

Only a few of the young guys Sando played ended up in the GF. Walker, Talia, Brown, Brad Crouch, Smith, Sloane, Lynch, Jenkins and Laird.

Blokes like Wright, Van Berlo, Henderson, Martin, Johnston, L. Thompson, Shaw, Jaensch, Lyons, Podsiadly, Callinan, Grigg, Kerridge and McKernan never made it to the GF.

So I wouldn't be giving any credit to Sando for building a GF side. He played a lot of kids because that's what you'd do when our squad was like it was. Some made it. Plenty did not. That's luck.
