First time posting on this board, so apologies in advance if I do ask any stupid question/s
Alright, so, im a year 12 student doing VCAL and am doing cert 3 interactive digital media at Kangan tafe.
I am a multimedia savvy sort of person, but am unsure when it comes to whats worth its weight in gold, qualifications or experience? Do they go hand in hand, or does one outweigh the other?
On friday August 2nd, I have a once off work experience placement at the Collingwood Football Club, special thanks from the digital media msnager Jonathon Bernard. I met with him back in June to discuss weekly work experience, but his HR manager allows only a total of 8 hours.
We talked at the cafe at the club, I raised the topic of employment in 2014. He did say they were looking to expand in the field. I told him my studies and asked if im looking to continue in 2014 with cert 4, I said probably not as the units covered a for some reason ridiculously unrelateble with such field I.e. animations.
He said if he had a choice between me and some one else he'd choose the other candidate based on qualification.
Question is whats better, qualifications or employment history experience?
Dare I say id love to one day say I work at the club. But It feels merely like a bridge too far.
