I have set up a facebook account and was wondering if i make my email address available for people to see, does that mean internet spiders can read it and add it to a pr0n spam list?

If you go to edit profile > contact, and hit the little lock button next to your email addy, you can change the access options.

You can choose to make it only available to be seen by friends.

Yeah but what i'm wondering is if i make it available to be seen, can the spiders read it and do whatever they do with it. I've made my facebook for business and old lost friends sake, not to make new friends, so having my email address available would enable people to get in touch. For that reason i'd like to make it available, but if it means i start getting pr0n spam then i probably wont do it.

If your addy is visible on your page to everyone, then yes, i'd expect spam by the truckload. Its certainly not something i'd recommend.

In the end dude, if old friends want to contact you, thats what the facebook page is for. They don't need your email addy.

Mines visible only to friends, but its sorta pointless really as all my real friends have it anyway, and facebook friends just use the facebook messaging system.
