LTD youre showing your ignorance once again

As I've posted before in another thread:
Jet -Look what you've done
Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
A fool of everyone
A fool of everyone

The Beatles - Sexy Sadie
Sexy Sadie what have you done
You made a fool of everyone
You made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie ooh what have you done.

Now is this being influenced by the Beatles?
Or is it perhaps just plain plagiarism?

Jet:thumbsd:

Showing my ignorance you reckon.

The Verve song "history" has similar lyrics to a famous english poem but that doesn't stop me enjoying a great song.

I ask you again, if a song is great would you refuse to listen to it if it copied heavily from another person's work.

A song is either good or bad to me.

Disliking a band because they rip off other people's material is to me a touch precious.

Oasis rip off the beatles, would that stop you jumping up and down during acquiesce at a live gig or singing don't look back in anger.

Im sure i could pick the shit out of muse songs if i wanted to sit down an analyse over lyrics.

Jet and Wolfmother made a big mistake
All the indie tossers that used to like them are upset that the bands actually sold some albums and made money
Wrong never like Jet, still like Wolfmother, don't like Jet cos they are a very shit band

I like many bands better than Muse, but i'd LOVE to see you even try to have a go at their lyrics. You couldnt. They're original, like 95% of other good bands out there. Thats why youre so ridiculously outnumbered every time you go Muse-bashing on here.

You can like Jet all you like, but them ripping off other people bring them down an awful lot. I'm sure if Muse had stolen so blatantly from another band/bands you would have started about 6 threads on it by now.

And you dont need to sit down and analyse Jet and their lyrics to find problems. Theyre all staring the listener right in the face

I couldn't care less who jet rip off as long as the song sounds good.

As i said, if someone wanted to sit down and pour over chord structures and lyrics they could probably find that 90% of bands borrow from other artists.

I couldn't care less.

As long as the song is good.

PS:- Are you indie?

No old mate

I'l give you my favourite bands for future reference

REM
DeVotchKa
Arcade Fire
Radiohead
Coldplay
The Beatles
Flaming Lips
Bright Eyes
Gomez
Muse

I, like many others, just dont find a band who cant be creative on their own appealing... i think thats a fair call

The lyrics are probably the least of the plagiarism claims the Beatles have towards Look What You've Done - the piano melody is a complete lift as well. Either do a cover version of it or give Lennon/McCartney songwriting credit. It should be like what happened with the Flaming Lips' "Fight Test" (rip off of Father and Son). At the other end of the scale, the Verve got barred for basing a song around a symphony sample that sounded nothing like the original Stones version (yet Jagger/Richards got the royalties didn't they?)

Let me guess your a skinny trouser wearing, tie wearing indie snob.
No I just don't like shit music, which is why I hate Jet.
I like original music, which most music is which for some reason you can't comprehend

but fight test sounds nothing like father and son. and bittersweet symphony certainly sounds nothing like the last time (the stones song). so i completely don't understand either of these plagiarism cases.

That's the funniest thing I've ever read on this board. And there's plenty of competition.
Didn't now such a thing existed as a oasis moshpit

Just about any question about Jet can be answered with one stock answer: They're crap. I'm a huge jjj fan, but I'm embarrassed that jjj had a hand in Jet getting to where they are now.:o

Too busy with your logarithm tables at a muse gig listening to a band that relies heavily on decent sound techs to make a decent sound.
