Would like to know the thoughts of my fellow blue baggers. What is your opinion as to whether or not the afl would have slugged us with the same fine............. loss of draft picks 1&2 along with a 900,000 fine......................... if elliot was sill preident of the club??

I have it on good authority that a majority of the player believed that collins did not do all he could to fight these sanctions.

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts????

The AFL was out to get Elliott.

I reckon they would have taken away the priority pick last year as well if Elliott had stayed in.

Who cares if there had been a court battle, the club couldn't afford a court battle.

My sources say that the club was on the brink of administration when Collins came in. Do you know how much getting a court case costs???

Which means that there would be no Carlton Football Club if Elliott had stayed in. We were on the brink of trading while insolvent, another famous Elliott action.

explain something to me.............. if we were in such dire financial trouble................. why the f##k were we able and still are able to pay 800,000 a yaer for pagan???

i have a massive problem with the fact that a bunch of F##kwhits who decided to call themselves "the unoffical selection committe" decided that they wanted a change and went ahead and f##ked up "my" club.................... that team running around embarrasing that great club and jumper is not carlton....................... carlton would not have accepted failure................. how long will we sit by and use the excuse that "elliot is to blame for the predicament that carlton finds it self in now."

Blame the current administration and coach for Carlton's predicament despite the salary cap breaches, the first ever wooden spoon and the woeful recruiting record .... no choice but to consider that you are a ring-in from elsewhere godsmack. Why do pay Pagan 600K? Because Elliott offered him a legally binding contract to coach Carlton for 3 years and Pagan accepted it. Why did he offer him 600K? Because Elliott is a moron and basically thought he could wave around a cheque book and get players across.

Obviously you don't understand anything about the law of contract.

And let me repeat again, if Elliott was still here we would have been $1 million over the cap last year and we would have been penalised again, we would most likely be insolvent and there would be no Carlton Football Club.

I bet you'd be happy about that

I haven't been here all that long but I get the feeling you already knew the thoughts of your "fellow blue baggers" and were just waiting for the opportunity to pipe up.

You are an aggetator and a dissenter yourself. Most people on this site have something positive to say and if it isn't positive it's at least constructive. I wouldn't consider myself one of "your" fellow blue baggers, so next time you pose a loaded question please refrain from putting us in the same slop bucket that you crawled out of.

I see nothing wrong with his comments at all, he asked a question and got bagged because it made sense but wasnt towing the Carlton line. Nothing wrong with saying what needs to be said or ar you happy with performances like the weekends one ?

Dead right it's a forum. But it is not your forum so butt out.

So supporters don't see the worth in speculating about the possible demise of a coach in 18 months or so depending on results. He has had exactly 28 matches at the helm since taking over a wooden spoon side with little youth and a lot of deadwood and retirements to come.

You may as well start a thread on the Lions board asking if Matthews should go if they don't perform for the next couple of years.

Negativity breeds negativity and asking for predictions of a negative outcome based on a hypothetical future are counter productive to what we are trying to achieve and potentially detrimental to maintaining the interest of new supporters looking for something positive in the future.

IF Pagan does not deliver, it should be discussed then but right now he hasn't done a lot wrong and it is unfair to cast aspersions on his coaching ability. The players are still not up to scratch and we will turn over more of them at the end of the year but we have seen some light at the end of the tunnel and quite frankly we would like to see more. A backward step is just what we don't want.

I may be mistaken gimp but:

1. I don't think godsmack minds abit of attacking himself. If he can't handle it he shouldn't dish it out. Plus making comments like he makes, he should expect some friendly fire. Some of his questions are so obviously loaded it isn't funny!

2. I would have thought (from previous posts) that godsmack can fight his own battles.

3. I can't help that I am a positive person......or the fact that I cant tolerate pathetic whinging bandwagon "supporters" with nothing constructive or interesting to say.

4. If the fact that I stick with my club - after one shocking loss (infact 2 shocking years) and am prepared to give them a go - gets up yours or anyone elses nose.....STIFF FUKCING SH1T!!

4. If this club is to move forward we need to do exactly that and get over the past....THAT is my point. We don't need our own so called "supporters" *****ting all over our club/coach/administration when every other prick involved in footy has been doing it for the last two and a 1/2 years!!! I may have been wrong and abit harsh with my statement about godsmack and I apologise (to godsmack) for that. But my point was that in refering to everyone else on the BF carlton board as his fellow blue baggers suggests to me that I am of the same opinion/sentiments as him when it comes to our great club.....which I am very obviously NOT. BTW just looking back at some previous threads, I am obviously not the only person godsmack has offended on this website.

As I said I'm always happy to hear other peoples opinions/thoughts and if they're not positive at least attempt to make them constructive.....otherwise shut up and cop your lot.

2. Elliott's administration & Brittain had collected the WORST list in the AFL.

3. Elliott's administration was paying our players WAY beyond what some where or still are worth. Some are still carrying ego's that could build the Athens Olympics Stadium because of this administration.

Now thinking of the above three points, please tell me how we did not accept failure, and how we where just supposed to sit back and watch our great club be torn apart. The only reservation I have with the "unofficial supporters committee" was that they didn't act sooner.

elliots administration contributed to 4 flags in 20 years.............. that means that since the last flag.95....... we are 5 years over due for our next flag already........ and i don't see us winning one in the near or distant future. That's how i came to the conclusion that the elliot administration did not accept failure.
